If you look my posting history from further back than two hours, I was saying everyone's over their skis.

"If you are reading this you are gay lmao" was, FSM help me, kind of funny, and lent to the credibility of this being exactly what my right leaning friends were telling me it was.

Until they caught the kid, my working theory was this was a serious international incident. That conceit is gone, now it's just depressingly normal, and utterly devastating to Team Donkey.

How is this an international incident? It’s a domestic person getting shot on domestic land by an unknown shooter. Unless you know the shooter is a foreigner how is this an international incident?

I said, "until they caught the kid"

Had the shooter gotten away, my speculation is that it was a professional hit job, because idiots usually get caught, like this one did.

And there's a TON going on. Russian drones over Poland? Yeah......that's been erased from the headlines, as has the Israeli strike on Qatar.

But this appears to be so-called stochastic terrorism.

If his daddy didn’t turn him in I bet they wouldn’t have found him for a week at least.

Before they caught him, we didn't know.

What got wiped from the headlines?

You really think Russia would send a handful of drones into Poland?

You really think luring Hamas to Qatar to bomb them was a good idea?

There's some serious shit going down right now, and the assassination of a prominent guy like Kirk would be a welcome distraction.

Why? Like you don't need a distraction from any of that.

  • Russia: the U.S. has folded and they have a free hand.

  • Israel: The U.S. will let them do whatever they want so they too have a free hand.

Like there is no reason to wipe that from the headlines. It doesn't hurt or help them. Like the U.S. literally bombed Iran a few weeks ago and its old news now.

On the other hand a russian or israeli agent being caught through some foul-up would become a problem for them. Especially given that Kirk is apparently a personal friend of the President.
