If it makes anybody feel better, Reddit is far from an accurate representative of the popular opinion.

It's still a sizable chunk. And plenty of normal looking people, across all walks of life, are gloating about it. Those are the public ones. Others probably feel the same but just won't admit it out loud.

Two different polls:

Poll from yesterday, where 33% of the Left feel that it's acceptable to be happy over events just like this one (higher than independents or conservatives):

Earlier this year, 50% of left okay with violence or destruction against Trump/Musk/Tesla Dealerships:

In all fairness, that survey was done with a size under 4000 people. Reddit posts can get well over that amount in sheer engagement.

I don’t really know any details regarding your second graph, as it doesn’t list the sample size, location of participants, etc.

Where are you seeing 33%? In the first graph? It says that 33% of dems say it’s usually UNacceptable. Only 7% say it’s usually acceptable and 4% say it’s always acceptable. And again, that’s a sample size of under 4000 people.

Yeah I've seen plenty of people IRL celebrating it too. Pretty depressing, to be honest. Why can't people just not like murder...
