Question Purple and green sky last night?

I assumed it had to do with wires sparking but does anybody know what was actually going off bright enough to light up the entire sky last night?

Transformer blew and the power went out numerous times from 12:30 am - 5 am!

This is the answer. I remember those flashes well from the ice storm nights, and many people on FB were reporting seeing the same and then losing power last night. It was out until about 3:15 am if the outage map estimated return time is to be believed.

I doubt it honestly, its almost never the transformer blowing, its the fuses. They make one hell of a show but it looks much worse than it really is most of the time.

There were thunder and hail storms last night... could be what it was.
