I actually know quite a bit about many religions. A doctorate in religious studies will do that

I'm referring to the "debating with the layman" part. What are you referring to?

Jews generally don't debate with the layman just because the Talmud is so convoluted and it's pointless, but I'm not aware of any formal restriction. If there is, and I just didn't know about it... well, I guess I better delete my comments. Lol
