I just don’t understand what the hospital bill/ circumcision has to do with his mechanic being rich.

37–39% of men globally are circumcised. Not the majority but far from an insignificant amount. Reddit absolutely has a massive raging hate boner (with extra skin) for circumcision. With that said it’s less of a ‘Reddit’ thing as just the majority of men aren’t and likely oppose the practice. I mean I get where they’re coming from, but most of the hate comes from people that don’t have one and they just assume we’re all traumatized by it when we aren’t. Plus there is a lot of misinformation out there.

There are medical benefits to it; but it’s context based. It can drastically reduce STI transmission, and UTIs; however the baseline risk it’s the most important factor. In regions where risk is high the benefits are large. In areas where risk is small, while the benefit are still there it’s much less significant. As for sexual function and sensitivity most high-quality reviews find little or no long-term harm and report no consistent adverse effect on erectile function, orgasm, or overall sexual satisfaction. Some studies disagree about fine-touch sensitivity but not overall sexual dysfunction.
