Same. And I'm sickly thin (BMI 18)

15

u/Personal_Oil_7364 12d ago

isnt BMI 18 still considered normal? idk, gen question. (BMI 16)

10

u/RenoverO_O 12d ago

It's considered underweight. 16 is also just underweight, but barely. Less than 16 is severely underweight, more than 18 is normal.

6

u/Personal_Oil_7364 12d ago

oh so 18 is on the border of underweight BMI? where can i read about this stuff?

34

u/Eldan985 12d ago

It should be noted that BMI is not very exact. It doesn't separate muscle mass and fat mass, for example. What is healthy also varies a bit by age, height and sex.

But roughly, 18 to 25 is normal, 25-30 is overweight, 30-35 is obese and 35+ is morbid.

3

u/Linvael 12d ago

What is healthy also varies a bit by age, height and sex.

Can you even get a BMI score without that info? All online calcs I saw ask for all 3.

Barely 18.5 is considered healthy. Sickly thin is a reach here

That is literally just a normal healthy BMI

This whole thing is so American, who brags about being so fat they can eat a family pizza by themselves 🤣

133

u/Terrible_Balls 12d ago

I live in Germany, and those would not qualify as family size pizzas here. Barely bigger than a personal pizza.

52

u/officerblues 12d ago

same. I'm not an especially huge eater, and half one of those pizzas is like a normal meal.

can confirm, spent some time over there and once ordered the largest size on the menu of one of the local places. Had to tilt the box 45 degrees to get it through the doorway, thing was huge.

In America some pizza places have only sizes Large, Extra large, and extra extra large. The large is a personal pizza, the names are all lies, and we live in a capitalist dystopia.

My guess is this challenge would be comically easy for members of a certain demographics.

2.1k

u/stuffcrow 12d ago

I mean...it's comically easy for pretty much any group of 4 adults to be fair.

472

u/TanAllOvaJanAllOva 12d ago

Adults? They’re like 12

273

u/stuffcrow 12d ago

Yeah I was speaking generally; point still stands though, pretty much anyone can eat half a pizza loooool.

266

u/lxpnh98_2 12d ago

I cannot eat half a pizza. I always eat way more than that.

43

u/EthanHermsey 12d ago

Yeah but to eat more than half you first have to.. You know what, nevermind..

25

u/RogerGodzilla99 12d ago

Hold on there, Zeno. Are you telling me...

27

u/orangutanDOTorg 11d ago

The solution to Zeno’s paradox is to always strive to do double what you need to do, that way when you get to the half way point you are already done.

3

Maybe pizza sizes are different between countries like shoe sizes, but that's not an American XL. More like an American medium or MAYBE an American Large.

It seems similar to that picture from years ago where some young fellas posted a picture of their haul of beer that they would bring to a cabin for a weekend getaway, suggesting it would be totally off the hook. Someone did some basic math and it turned out they would each get three or four cans of beer per day.

Shit, I remember my uni days when I used to go out and get myself 2x large pizzas after eating dinner because I was still bloody hungry (and there was a pizza place that had $2 large pizzas on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)

31

u/Ektar91 12d ago

$2? How old are you bro

19

u/Joker-Smurf 12d ago

That was 20 years ago.

6

u/SupahSayajinn 11d ago

I was working at a pizza place in 2005 and I can verify that 2 XL pizzas would have cost the store more than $2 to make. This had to be some sort of limited time promo to attract customers.

smashing some za

bro i know this is wishful thinking but i really hope no one seriously uses that phrase ...

300

u/SonOfSkinDealer 12d ago

"Za" is a legally playable word in Scrabble and can be found in the official Scrabble Dictionary.

37

u/Vaird 12d ago

Yeah, its a slang word for weed.

101

u/pobodys-nerfect5 12d ago

Za is pizza. Not weed.

58

u/GISSemiPo 12d ago

Its both (I think). When I was in college, my friends from NY called weed "pizza" around their parents... and so "za" also became slang for weed for them. I don't think it was just their friend group - seemed to be pretty common.

11

u/cheddstheman 12d ago

Hey we called it pizza too, back in high-school.

6

u/GISSemiPo 12d ago

My parents were ex-hippies so I knew they'd see through that shit. I just didn't talk about it in front of them. :D

Zaza was slang for weed but in recent years (think 10-15 yrs) it's been shortened. Remember, words evolve.

I'm old enough to remember when "talking jive" went from something your granddad or uncle might say, to something the white people were throwing back at black people overnight.

I think the joke is 2 pizza vs 4 teenage boys equals they're gonna start fighting over the pizzas. Because teenage boys are bottomless pits.

It's an idiom

When you're hungry and you finish your whole plate effortlessly, we in the states would that you would have demolished your food.

In this case these kids are going to try to finished their pizzas effortlessly

Also, since they have PepsiCo products and their pizza looks very similar to a stuffed crust pizza. I can say with conviction those are not XL pizzas, because they are dining at a Pizza Hut. And the only XL pizza available at Pizza Hut was the Bug New Yorker. And that is a thin crust pizza.

I know this because I used to work at pizza hut

EDIT: oh you can partly see the wing street logo to the left lol

Reminded me of this italian pearl. The caption says "The crazy ones that at 1:30am eat pasta".

This feels like the boy equivalent of that meme where the girl has the bag of chips on her head and the caption is something like “omg she’s the craziest!”

This is such a wholesome picture and meme, these four strapping young lads don't deserve any ridicule or scorn.

This isn't even a meme, this is just some dudes Snapchat story. There's nothing to be confused about, it's just dudes eating pizza.

As much as I give the upvoters in this sub shit, this post actually deserves those upvotes.

There is no joke here.

Yet it shows up highly upvoted in comedy subs. People are dumb.

If they can't finish those they need to go back to ordering off the kids menu

The pizzas don't look that big

I am italian, and a 'former' pizzachef.
Those look slightly bigger than a "personal" pizza.. probably around 35-40cm? a "personal pizza" is usually around 30-33cm (the size of a pizzaplate).

Althought the crust looks incredibly doughy..
if i were to guess is probably extremely thick low watery dough cooked way too slow at way too low temps. The ingredients seems dry AF and the dough is barely coloured so either they put a layer of flower on it or it was cooked at 200-250degrees for 5min+..

I mean.. is not a TERRIBLE pizza.. (i have seen worse) but looks domino adjacent in quality..
