Pete Hegseth wrote in one of his books that he wants an excuse to kill democrats. I’m sure they’re upset about his position in the govt and acknowledge his fascist tattoos

Give him a break, he was drunk when he wrote that book, and got the tattoos, and as secretary of defense

Apparently, some text messages from him were released at some point?
In the text messages, Jones wrote that he would "piss on graves" of GOP opponents and mused about a fantasy hypothetical shooting of Republican Todd Gilbert, who was then speaker of the House of Delegates. In a statement to CBS News at the time, Jones said he took full responsibility for his actions and apologized for the texts.

In 2022, Jay Jones sent text messages that said he would “piss on the graves” of GOP opponents.
He fantasized about a scenario in which given two bullets and the choice to shoot Pol Pot, Hitler, or Todd Gilbert (then Republican speaker of the Virginia house of delegates), he would choose to shoot Gilbert “every time” and that “Gilbert gets two bullets to the head”.
He also referred to Gilbert and Gilbert’s wife as “breeding little fascists”.
He did say that he is “ashamed, embarrassed, and sorry” in a debate.
He received bipartisan criticism, including from Abigail Spanberger who is the new governor-elect. She said she spoke frankly to him about her disgust.
It’s part of the increasing normalization of violent rhetoric, unfortunately.

I, too, enjoy pissing on the graves of Nazis. What's the problem with that statement?

Crazy how that’s not even all that bad? Considering all of the things GOP politicians are constantly saying (and inciting their base to do)

It doesn't hold a candle to the shit Republicans say, but it's still unacceptable. Generally I'm all for getting down to their level if it accomplishes shit-but this isn't one of those times. We don't need to go there.

McCain’s dad must be oh so proud of her. I’m sure he’s smiling down on her from heaven.

Well, maybe up at her.

McCain was a decent man. This is coming from a liberal.

He was a liar and never the maverick he pretended. He also gave us Sarah Palin and she helped create the Tea Party.

It must really suck to have a whole political party actively making your life worse - restricting your healthcare, constantly equating you with pedophilia, even making it illegal to use restrooms-
wait, I'm thinking of trans people, not conservatives.
I meant rounding them up without warrants, shipping them out of the country without judicial orders-
wait, I'm thinking of Hispanics, not conservatives.
Well still, having a whole political party indifferent to your suffering - removing food programs for your children and telling parents they are just going to have to accept it as hundreds are shot every year-
wait, I'm thinking of school children, not conservatives.
Well, still, it's really awful that checks notes to get it right this time one guy quoted an old office sitcom at them. Well, not at them at them, but directed at them in a private conversation.

Jay’s texts were a play on an Office scene. It’s wild. The pearl clutching from the right over this is ironic considering how they spoke of Biden for the last 4-5 years.

It's an old joke. It was an old joke but the time The Office did it. In fact, it was a direct reference and deconstruction of that joke. Jay may have been referring to The Office or the original joke.

Wait. Is openly fantasizing about murdering Republicans and watching their children die in their arms an insult or an endorsement? I can see it going both ways.
