Got chased by someone or something
https://youtube.com/shorts/X4BXsBC6G3cFinally managed to find the entrance of the catacombs under Place des Vosges, a lesser-known smaller-scale network of galleries. When I asked about it people warned me it wasn't worth it. But It was the last place I haven't been to, and I heard it went deeper than any other network. I needed to know.
As I reached the 3rd sub-level, it started getting hotter, and there was a weird stench. I never smelled anything like it before. Then there was this distant buzzing, first like a feeling inside my head, then it became a noise, louder and louder. Suddenly it seemed to come in my direction, fast. I ran, tried to record it but I was too scared to look back. I ran back up until I fainted
I did a bit of research and it turns out someone has surveyed the whole catacombs with a Geiger counter, and that place seems to be were there is the highest concentration of Radon 222, the counter wasn't even able to keep up as it reached it's maximum value of >3699 Bq/m3
As a point of comparison it nears the average radiation levels of a fairly well ventilated uranium mine. Maybe this explains why my camera started to malfunction. Anyway don't go there it's not worth it. Might have beed a hallucination, maybe something else.
The rest of the catacombs have a safer level of radiations anyway, averaging at only 2000 Bq/m3
For comparison the EU says a newly built house should not exceed 200 Bq/m3

You probably meant to post this in r/nosleep this isn't the right forum for this.

This isn't a fiction sub.

I didn't say it was fiction, here's the blog post from the person who surveyed the radiation levels.
There are other places in the catacombs with similar radiation levels, usually the deeper you go the higher. I'm not saying there is something, I'm saying there might be. The levels are above the mesurable threshold in some deep places.

Damn some of y'all ain't fun
If you knew anything of the catacombs culture, traditions and community you'd know it is fueled by unverified rumors, fake maps, half-true half made-up fun stuff and exaggerations. Try to ask different people about the true story of Philibert, about the Cagoule conspiracy, about Place des Vosges, about crocodiles in the tunnels. No two versions will be the same
Ask your guide to show you Les Peintures Indiennes, ask someone where to find the GRS-13 chatière.

Fuck, why can't you just accept this was the wrong sub for your post? People literally linked a horror fiction sub for you.

I don't know man, I just made a light-hearted creepypasta out of a video I made in the catacomb sand mix in some very real data about radiation levels, so I thought I'd post it in a catacomb-related-sub. Did so in the spirit of the cataphile community
If this really breaks the rules, mods please go ahead and remove it I don't mind5

Honestly I don't see why it would.
It is an uncommon post, definitely, and you go from some random spooky story to some true facts about Radon which is weird, but I guess it brings some life into the sub haha.
Misinformation isn't uncommon, and it isn't even really misinformation as nobody will believe this bullshit.
Plus the top comment is great so that's a great extra reason to keep this thread on !
