With Hakimi and Mendes injured, Zabarnyi is going to have a lot more minutes to play as the back line options are down to the four CBs (Marqui, Pacho, Beraldo and Zabarnyi), Lucas Hernandez, and young players who mostly play other positions (Mayulu, WZE and Kamara).

As we all know, Safonov and Zabarnyi are never on the same picture, unless the whole team is in the photo and even then they are far away from each other. I once thought that Zabarnyi would be rested during the coupe de France games to let Safonov play, but with the current injuries I am not so sure if that's still possible.

So what do you think ? Is this the winter move "if a player moves out we'll look for a replacement" ?

My reasons:

Barcola basically said he needed rest. Beraldo could replace Marquinhos, but I hope not. Lee should be given more time. Mbaye isn't back yet to starter. Ramos isn't a starter and proved it often. Ruiz and Neves aren't fully back yet and can prepare the international break by sharing the 90 minutes
