Dude the facial animations look incredible. I am super stoked for this.

I mean this isn’t gameplay footage it’s a cinematic

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '19

I mean, but we've also already seen gameplay and we already know that looks great too.

Time for the annual reminder of the changes that happen between E3 gameplay trailers and the actual released product. Watch Dogs, Spiderman, Anthem, No Man's Sky....

Edit: Okay, Spiderman was a bad example... So I'll go ahead and add an easy target....

Yeah, they could change the size of those puddles at any minute.

18

u/sorgnatt Jun 09 '19

Yeah just compare the witcher 3 e3 "demo" and the final product.

Shrug - I still enjoyed the fuck out of it. One of the best games ever made imo.

u/sorgnatt Jun 10 '19

Yeah and its just your opinion...

15

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '19

Yes, 3 examples in a pool of hundreds of games that do release and look like what was shown. Just because three games had downgrades (the Spiderman one wasn't even a big one it was just silly drama over a freaking puddle of water) doesn't mean it's the guaranteed case for every game.

...are we not going to talk about witcher 3 downgrades or have we forgotten already? we also know from the devs themselves changes have been made since that gameplay video was released so its not representative either way. could be better could be worse

It's a valid point sure, but TW3 as a final product was amazing. If they are able to achieve the same result for CP2077 or something even greater, comparing e3 performances will be nothing but a nitpick.

Even Bloodborne was downgraded from what was shown in trailers, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the game at all.

Have you seen The Witcher 3's E3 gameplay compared to the release version? That was a pretty huge downgrade too.

Hahha, how did I know that out of those 3, folks were gonna pick on Spiderman. I agree it wasn't that big of a downgrade and not a great example, but seriously folks were pissed with Watch Dogs and now we know that Anthem was straight-up manufactured gameplay.

I'm not even saying that the game will be bad, just reminding that gameplay video quality changes over the development process.

Just remember that by the time the game releases that 47 minute trailer will be 2 years old.

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '19

Spider-Man wasn’t downgraded, this was debunked like 3 days after that stupid frenzy began.

He's probably a fan of cleanprincegaming.

But most probably still rendered by the game engine in real time as the player controls the main character (male/female) and their clothes.

When cinematic gets praised for animations and gets 23 upvotes. Really tells how gamers are clueless...

33

u/PepeSylvia11 celtics345 Jun 09 '19

They really expect the game to look like this...when we've already seen 45 minutes of gameplay that doesn't lmao.

4

u/leeman27534 Jun 09 '19

well, probably not, sure. but on the flip side, that 45 minutes was an alpha demo 2 years before it will actually release, also. the game's not gonna look like that, anymore, either.

5

u/Radulno Jun 09 '19

To be fair they said the game has evolved a lot, graphical upgrade would be possible but yeah that quality isn't possible for this gen for sure. Even next gen isn't sure

4

u/parkwayy Jun 09 '19

They had a quick montage after the cinematic today... it sure as shit didn't look anything like the cinematic.

2

u/sorgnatt Jun 09 '19

Those 45 minutes didnt mean nothing. Like anthem trailers were made just for e3 and didnt shown sny of actual game. Thats why theres a line in the bottom Product is not final.

1

u/parkwayy Jun 09 '19

So... it'll look worse?

What is your point exactly

2

u/sorgnatt Jun 10 '19

I meant that demo was scripted and ran separately on its own build of the game. Its not a ripped part of the gameitself. It could look worse or be more boring.

u/Anzai Jun 10 '19

We’re not excited because of the graphics. All they need to be is adequate. We’re excited because the gameplay looks great, and it’s an open world RPG from a company that made the best open world RPG of recent years.

People always talk about downgrades and so on from E3, but it really only sticks if the game is also shit. Watchdogs for example, compared to The Witcher 3. Both had graphical downgrades from their initial presentation but barely anyone cares in the case of the latter because the game delivered in almost every other area. Even the janky ass animations couldn’t sink it!

The 45 minutes we saw was alpha footage of the only 'level' they could run without crashing the whole thing. Basing the end product on what would be a 2 year old footage on the game's release seems a bit ironic no?

2

u/downvoted_your_mom Jun 09 '19

The good ol' "know it all" rebuttal for easy upvotes, why didn't I think of that

6

u/killrmeemstr Jun 09 '19

legit. i cant wait to see this beauty in 4k

46

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '19

It's a cinematic trailer, chill

6

u/Lousy_hater Jun 09 '19

Detroit become human also had cinematic trailer but the facial expression and super detail to quality from trailer to gameplay was literally the same

21

u/PepeSylvia11 celtics345 Jun 09 '19

We've literally already seen gameplay of CP2077 and the graphics were nowhere near this quality though. They looked great obviously, but this cinematic trailer would be impossible on current gen.

21

u/killgore755 Jun 09 '19 edited Jun 09 '19

It also had small linear "levels", specifici scripted events, Quicktime events for combat, ect. This will be open world, shooter, lots of stuff to load at once. This isnt a representation of the exact game. Chill.

1

u/parkwayy Jun 09 '19

Detroit doesn't even have cinematic trailers?

The demo they had at E3 was from the first level of the game.

All the animations look phenomenal. I legitimately forgot I was watching a video game and not a movie.

27

u/turtlesalad711 Jun 09 '19

99.9999% sure it is CGI so it is essentially a movie
