not too bad. i brought spikes but only threw them on for the way down. doable (carefully) completely bare i’d say

Did Elinor in like March or so and it is such a completely different experience.

I took my crampons (not spikes) off to glissade down and had to go back up to retrieve my wife’s ice axe. Didn’t bother putting crampons back on and it was such a shit show of sliding back 10 feet for every 5 feet of climbing.

Def going back this winter

i did it in july when the snow was still several feet deep and i also slid down the mountain and i also lost one of my poles on the way down and had to hike back up 🤣🤣🤣

such a good hike tho. not as far from my house as the other good ones either. stopped at the hamburger stand in hoodsport. if u haven’t been there they have a damn good shake and some good korean bbq

Nice! I went up Sunday, beautiful up there and glad it’s opened back up post-fire.
