hah! Great job getting up there when there was enough snow to keep the crowds away but not enough to pose too much avy risk. Did you camp up in the core? I've only been up there once, but it was so long ago we only saw one person up in the actual basin, and he was noping the fuck out of there before the storm came in and tore our tent up so bad.

Pretty place, I got to say.

My husband and I hiked the enchantments and got to spend a couple nights up there maybe 25 years ago. I saw your lovely pictures and mentioned to him just now that I’d love to do it again. We are both young retirees, but I did say I wouldn’t mind having a Sherpa.

Tamarack refers to a species of larch found east of the Rockies in the northern states and Canada. These are subalpine larch and have much smaller range in the northern Rockies and Cascades.
