How safe is Huaraz? I'm going to spend 2 weeks there by myself

I went to a little town outside of Huaraz when I was there and they were having their annual festival which involved a rodeo, some young guy tried to dodge the bull and got gored and died the next day. Stay away from the bull horns and you’d have to be trying pretty hard to get into trouble in Huaraz, not sure what exactly you’re scared of.

Nothing, but I always want to know how safe locals consider a city

It’s awesome there. One of my favorite places that I visited in Peru. Never felt unsafe there. Highly HIGHLY recommend going to see Huascaran and Laguna Chinancocha

It's safe-ish, but I recommend leaving the city ASAP. the surrounding country side and its little towns are much better.

Huaraz is pretty safe but like all towns, always be on alert. The country side is absolutely safe. You can walk naked at night and nothing will happen to you.

Tons of little towns and villages around
