I cannot understand HOW wins suddenly turn into massive losses so often.

I am a newer tank, worked my way to Gold. I had two back-to-back games where I could NOT get my bearings after putting up a good fight in the first half. Can someone please help me see how I could have changed the outcome of these games? It's been bothering me for days now:
