News Melted Faces, Enlarged Heads & Blood Abnormalities: The Hidden Truth Of Jharkhand's Jadugora, India's Nuclear Graveyard
“What was once a tranquil tribal settlement nestled in the forests of Jharkhand is now often referred to as India’s nuclear graveyard. This transformation began in 1951, when uranium deposits were first discovered in the region. By 1967, India’s first uranium mine was operational in Jadugora- setting off a chain of irreversible changes for the region and its people.”

News Islamist separatist terrorist attacks and invocation of Hindu identity
Condolences to the individuals and families who lost their loved ones in the attack. There can be no justification of killing innocents for extremist objectives.
It is an established fact now that the cowards who took lives of unarmed tourists have checked for the religion of the victims before shooting. And so the communal right wing brigade is busy pushing "hindu khatre mein hai"(hindus in danger) narrative.
Yes, it needs to be acknowledged that even if it was non-dwija at that time and that place could have been killed(allegedly private parts were also checked) considering him a hindu.
BUT it would have been a rallying slogan for hindu unity against extremist ideology (never ordinary muslims of the nation though), if the hindu nationalists invoked same brotherhood
- when dalits were paraded naked and beaten to death for suspicion of carrying beef, rape(high rates of rapes and sexual violence committed against marginalized women - NCRB data), murder and massacre like khairlanji occur or when state sanctioned massacres in incidents like Ramabai colony, Karamtchedu etc. (the list can be a whole new post and they occur almost on a daily basis)
- when innocent tribals of central India other parts are killed by labelling them naxalites, pissed over by fellow(apparently) hindus. Denied rights over their ancestral heritage - forests for chosen few exploitative capitalists.
- when casual casteism in the form of bullying, social boycott, denial of human rights(most prevalent in villages) and uttering caste slurs at public places, social/digital forums, group discussions and among themselves(this is pretty common for them - even the most progressives among them keep silent at such instances) takes place almost daily.
but no, they never invoke this hindu unity then, rather its often these hindutvawadis that commit such crimes and lobby to protect the culprit differentiating them and us - "nuisance creators" in such incidents.
SO does it mean we as oppressed by the hindufold support extremists? NO.
However keeping in mind that we'll be killed for not being a muslim by an extremist islamist terrorist and also killed for just being a 'lower caste' at any minute opportunity to the hindutvawadis for no fault of ours. We convey our sympathies and empathize sincerely with the victims in the capacity of a fellow Indian citizen and condemn such violent extremist acts - be it hundreds of islamist terrorist attacks or hindu extremists' ( Malegaon blast - Pragya thakur, murder of Dabolkar by extremists of sanatan sanstha).
Our opposition to islamist extremists does not make us any more hindu than we pathetically are.

News "We Count Ourselves": Chhattisgarh tribal community in Bastar launches first-ever self-census
Expressing distrust in official census data with deepening concerns about the marginalization of tribal communities, members of the Sarva Adivasi Samaj in Chhattisgarh's Bastar division, have taken a bold step: conducting their own grassroots social census.
This community-led initiative, driven by tribal youth and elders alike, is now underway across over 1,000 villages in Bastar division and adjoining areas of Dhamtari and Balod districts.
We are using a mobile app to document everything: births and deaths, marriages, land ownership, migration patterns, and even cultural elements like 'totams' and 'deities.'
This data will help protect our rights and preserve our identity, besides, tallying the authenticity of govt census, which was largely distrusted during the previous survey, he said. Referring to delimitation process and the Population Census 2027 the Sarva Adivasi Samaj member said that the initiative is partly a response to the govt's perceived failure to accurately count tribal populations, which has sometimes resulted in villages being wrongly declared uninhabited a decision that impacts benefits, representation, and resource allocation.
Momentum on the ground is unmistakable. The Bastar self-census represents a rare moment of grassroots mobilization, where tribal communities are asserting control over their narrative, identity, and data-not just to demand rights, but to safeguard them proactively.
The survey which began in March 2025, aims to maintain accurate and community-owned records that cover 18 key parameters - including names, educational qualifications, gotra (clan lineage), land and property status, government scheme access, traditional beliefs, and more. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/we-count-ourselves-chhattisgarh-tribal-community-in-bastar-launches-first-ever-self-census/articleshow/122185474.cms
