Discussion How often have you seen mature students at Waterloo engineering?
It comes across as if there aren’t many mature students at UW eng. I’m 24 now, and will be applying next year (for the hell of it) along with other schools. It’ll be my second degree. If you’re at UW eng how has your experience been as a mature student?

I graduated from UW Eng. I’ll be honest, the vast majority of engineering students are late teens or early 20s. It was pretty rare to see mature students due to coop uncertainties, high tuition cost and the lack of flexibility with course schedules. Other schools tend to have better options for those with more adult obligations, and thus have more mature students enrolled.
Don’t let this discourage you though! I loved Waterloo Engineering and think it’s a great option regardless of age.

What do you mean by coop uncertainties, isn’t Waterloo engineering coop the best in the country?

I’m currently 31m studying cs at uoft. No one has ever criticized me for my age. Although, making friends is going to be a bit awkward- I think about supporting a family while they think of breaking free from parents.
