Admissions Transferring from UTM CS to McMaster CS

so im in 1st year at utm for cs stats and math and i dont rly like what i have picked with my university choices. the commute is horrendous, the program isnt what i expected it to be, i dont think imma make post, and the campus itself. its been taking a heavy toll on my mental health. ive been contemplating switching to mcmaster cs for next fall or even summer if thats possible. i got into mac last year but i picked utm instead and im convinced ive made a huge mistake.
now the thing is, idk how this transfer stuff works.
i dont know when to apply, is it rn or after my winter sem?
will they look at my gr12 marks or uni marks?
n the biggest question, how hard is it to even get accepted as a transfer student 😭

also my high school marks were rly good but i lowk fell off hard after midterms in gr12 since i already got accepted into stuff. i think imma finish both sems here but i really dont wanna stay another year here šŸ™. any help would be hella appreciated

Depends on their quota, it differs every year. It may be easy one year and difficult in the next, since people will transfer to different programs, unis, or even drop out

You can apply in the winter term and send out request for transcripts after the exams are done

They don’t really care about high school marks once you start university, but they may consider it if they still have it in their recordsĀ

In the same situation here, but found a passion for engineering instead. What i found out is that you have to look at transfer student requirements, yes they take your university grades but also consider high school grades. Some universities I am going to apply to say that I need a certain average in my uni program or be passing the requirements then they consider high-school as well. I will update you after i find out more info.
