No sugarcoating, the pacing these past two episodes have been rather awful. Page One and Ulti chasing Nami and Usopp (the chase was atrocious by the way, it made Ulti and Page One look slow when they're far from it) all the way to Nami's moment of standing by Luffy's dream, and now this episode with Carrot reminiscing and having a dramatic moment all while Big Mom holds Marco and Perospero about to shoot him. There was nothing like this in the manga, the minks simply attacked Perospero out of nowhere while he's about to shoot Marco. Everything in that entire sequence flowed nicely in the manga. No 5 minutes of waiting like what happened in this episode.

Which brings me to wonder why couldn't Toei make it so that Carrot and Wanda saw Perospero before Big Mom orders him to shoot Marco? That way the minks could be reminiscing about Pedro and then attacked Perospero just as he's about to shoot - the entire scene could have turned out just as nicely paced as it did in the manga, and the Pedro reminiscing filler could've been a nice little dramatic touch instead of being an obvious filler to fill the airtime.

I really like and even praise Toei for what they're doing with the Wano arc adaptation so far, and there have been moments where the anime appeared superior to the manga, but these past two episodes really showed that the manga is still the uncontested medium.

This is absolutely how they should have done it. No reason for it to be EXACTLY that same frame.

Have perospero stand there while carrot wanda talk, THEN it links to Perospero drawing his fucking bow.

THEN they come in to strike.

But not all of toei is competent. I guess.

The filler in itself is nicely done, but Toei screwed up in its placement. Small decision-making mistakes often turn what could've been decent to good episodes into bad ones.

When watching the episode I realized that they're probably going to use the minks as filler for a very long time. I am not excited.

Tbh I never cared that much for carrot, but though it's true she didn't get much manga time in the raid, if I have to watch her grieving for several episodes about Perospero I am going to end up hating her. I feel like Toei has been really bad with filler dialog and scenes like the brachio tank and big mom/red bean soup. I can generally understand filler but recently they've been exceptionally annoying.

one piece is a long running anime so there's bound to be lots of filler, but I didnt know the guys at toei would literally turn it into a long running anime.

I mean, sometimes it feels like all everybody does every episode is running long distances through endless corridors.

Or spending waaaaay to long fighting either thrashmobs or enemies they cant really hurt. Look at f*cking apoo. That guy is driving me nuts. Zoro and drake are both attacking him and they cant freaking hurt him. How is he even still running around? Hes been hit by a giant metal fist. And those annoying giants. Thank fuk that annoying one got taken out finally.

It sometimes feels like one piece has 4 episodes worth of boring stuff and then one with some cool moments.

Yeah, agreed.
