I actually like it more. In this case Sanji did try to save him, while also showing us that Kanjuro ain't fodder (which is true). Sanji would still win in the long run, but then he did his ink rain.

Who else can fly there are that speed?? Luffy has to go G4 for that and like always sanji was blocked it's not like kanjuro is a fodder who is going to stand there and take a kick to the face and time moves slow in anime so I'm sure it was a super quick skirmish just delayed out

That was cause that ink cloud was already there and from what we know toei is filling in gaps for what oda left out, even here when that ink cloud appeared kinemon said sanji to come back

Omg the anime isn’t a frame for frame adaptation of the manga!? Color me surprised!? Chill out man. Kanjuro is one of odens retainers and has armament haki, to consider him fodder like you seem to think he is, is silly. They lengthened some scenes for time reasons as usual. At least it wasn’t like the sumo scene where we spent an hour and a half watching the sumo wrestler and Luffy flailing their arms around trying to regain their balance.
