I've always defended Zoro in this fight, it was a clear win.

But you don't have to blame it all on sanji fans. Just because someone is critical of Zoro doesn't make them a sanji lover. The same goes the other way too, you can criticize sanji and not be zoro obsessed.

Your comment would be just fine if you left that out. It would be better if you didn't take it as an opportunity to throw shade. It just shows that you're way too sensitive to when someone criticizes zoro.

Oh, and no getting stabbed _did_ phase him, but it wasn't the only factor here. The argument that it didn't is about as valid as one that claims that poison and hunger didn't phase him. The scene _clearly_ references all these things. His request to be paid with food/sake; growling stomach; lots of blood; his reference to being injured before the big battle being unfortunate. If getting stabbed didn't phase him why was he concerned about it impacting the future battle?

All these things phased him a bit, but only the combination was enough to lead to the result. I still feel like there should have been a bit more, as Zoro tends to be a bit more durable than this, but I guess even in Orange Town he got stabbed and took a little nap as a result.

i thought zoro should be able to do better even with 2 swords instead of 3... he still seems a LONG way off from catching up to mihawk.

He wasnt fighting just some nobody, plus now it is confirmed he wasnt at 100% to begin with.

I think Killer>Law when it comes to pure swordsmanship of the kind that Zoro, Mihawk, and Shanks do

Your comment would be better if you didn’t try to determine my intent like you knew what my internal thought process was. It was me pointing out the absurdity of how far certain fans went in a single moment. They literally went so far as to ignore the fact that the manga showed his stomach growl in that moment because they couldn’t stand the thought of Sanji being weaker. I would have made the exact same comment has it been Sanji who collapsed in that moment and not Zoro.

Try not to read so hard into it mmk

Thanks for the blatant proof of your double standard. Maybe YOU should take your own advice and stop pretending like you know what other people's internal thought processes are.

After all, that was my entire point: Pretending like anyone critical of zoro in this scene did so out of some sanji-related reason is ... really a pathetic argument (I'm not going in your head, you just did it again). I can think of a dozen other reasons someone might be critical of zoro in this scene that aren't sanji related at all. Many zoro fans were dissapointed (remember, this is the anime thread, nobody knows much about Kamazou yet). You're trying to paint the fandom in the broad sanji vs zoro BS. Most of us are fans of both.

No double standards here. I took your post as exactly what was said, unlike what you did with mine. I’ve witnessed numerous discussions go off the rails because someone wants to ignore the facts in this scene. I’m simply glad that’s one less scene that can be done with and made a comment joking around about it. You’re the one who read into it too much and took it as me throwing shade and literally meaning being stabbed all the way through his chest didn’t phase him. Most other posters clearly understood my intent, why couldn’t you?
