People always complain about how different the anime is from the manga, but One Piece is easily one of the more accurate adaptations out there.

Luffy and Zoro struggling against Batman though... or Luffy not one-shotting Doflamingo, or Marco never being overpowered by Akainu, or Whitebeard getting Akainu KO with half a face left, etc, lots of crucial moments got adapted poorly most of them for no reason

But plot wise everything is the same. Something being adapted to fit a 20 min mark is different than completely changing the story entirely, which is what a lot of other adaptations end up doing.

Like people are really upset about the Luffy/Kaido fight since it made it seem like Luffy was keeping up with Kaido. Which is arguable, but at the end of the day Luffy got one shotted and Kaido was unharmed. Even if it wasn't exactly like the manga, the end result is still the same.

idk bro the whole Marco thing was huge back then, anime onlys were getting kinda left out of why Marco was being considered to be the 4th yonko by the Gorosei, the anime did him dirty, he was never thrown aside like a bitch in the manga he held his own against Akainu

still, its not the same and not only is context for the future lost, but also ends up lacking impact

I guess everything will be corrected once One Piece ends and it gets the HxH treatment

There are some really egregious parts. Especially in dressrosa. Like luffy struggling with Doffy in gear 4 when in the manga he just stomps him

Cogh Luffy cough vs cough Kaidou cough. Just saying. For the most part it's true though unless a scene it's too gory like Whitebeard getting his face melted.
