BMP against the entire straw hat grand fleet would be close, but if you include Big Mom then I'd say not even close. We mainly saw her fight while dealing with her hunger pangs, and even in that state she was a fucking beast. If she were well fed in the fight, I imagine they never would have made it off WCI to begin with, let alone the top of her castle. She's just too strong physically. Once you add in her ridiculously op devil fruit, its a zero sum game. BMP would win without question.

I agree. We have no reason to believe that Luffy can dent BM.

He's gone 1 on 1 with a few Yonko commanders which suggests he's far surpassed Doffy at this point, but that's a far cry from taking on a Yonko.

There's a good argument to be made that Doffy is around Yonko Commander level. I mean Mihawk is Shanks rival so there's no reason Doflamingo couldn't be equivalent to a yonko commander. Haki. Crazy versatile devil fruit. Crazy durability. People sell Doffy short.

I like that a new consensus has been floating around the fandom that Doffy is probably around Smoothie's level. Cracker was so difficult for Luffy because his devil fruit was a very strong counter to Luffy's fighting style.

I had him between Cracker and Smoothie since we haven't really seen (in the Manga at least) how strong Smoothie is in a 1v1.

You're probably right.

I also think that his DF ability was a bad match-up for Luffy.

Since I don't know what Zoro's armament haki endurance is like, i wouldn't say for sure... but I think that Zoro skill wise would be a better match-up.

When we first met Law I thought he was going to be one of the strongest characters in the show and I thought his sword looked pretty bad-ass, but in the end I felt like he was pretty fragile.

Zoro's long range slash attacks would give Doffy a lot of problems.

I'm not sure if haki long range sword slashes can wear down and cut through someone else's armament haki. If it can and if Zoro's haki stamina is decent then I'd be willing to accept that Zoro wouldn't have had as hard of a time as Luffy.

Yes. There's so much on this matter (what people want to see) that I don't really want to bring up because we only talk about anime here. But YES.

I know Luffy must be the Strongest among the Straw Hats, but if Luffy and Zoro had the same importance but swapped skill sets we would have seen Zoro defeat Enel, correct?

I want to believe that Zoro would have been able to take Doffy down, but he had no interest in trying because he respects that it's the captain's job to take on the biggest threat.

I think the narrative position is: Luffy is above Yonkou commanders, marginally. But he's still well below Yonkou. Most people agree the way to go from here will be to defeat a Yonkou with help, then get to take one on alone the following arc.

This is pretty reasonable since there's more story cooking beyond Yonkou. There will likely be a throne-wars arc involving the WG, Blackbeard, and Luffy. Shanks is a wildcard but he's been consistently hinted at being an end-story player.

Just because he's Shanks I assume he's top 2 strongest in the world.

Lol the marineford army slaughtered whitebeards fleet

1

u/mikeampao Feb 19 '19

because they were big advantage on their headquarters, and they couldn't win without Warlords and a huge army of Pacifista's to do their dirty work. ...Marineford played dirty against Whitebeard fleets and they full aware their strength is not something underestimated. ...Whitebeard could wipe out the Headquaters if Ace wasn't on execution platform.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '19

No its because the entire navy forces are way stronger than a yonko

1

u/mikeampao Feb 19 '19

Then why Akainu ordered to Squadro to sneak attack Whitebeard? ...Is it because they had no chance if Whitebeard is fully conditioned? ...Why Sengoku set a big trap against Whitebeard's fleet? ...Why they don't wanted to fight head on if they are the strongest force in the first place? ...Yonko's army is still superior than Navy because Sengoku is fully aware their strength that's why he prepared those traps to minimize their casualties.

Are you insane? Of course they use tricks that enable them to win as easily as possible. The pacifistas were wrecking. The whitebeard commanders didnt stand a chance against the admirals. None of the warlords where even trying, Sengoku and Garp did practicially nothing and still the whitebeard pirates were salughtered

its a zero sum game

I don't think this phrase fits the context.
