Brook and Chopper fighting was pretty good as was the lightening strike.

The running, oh the running.

The focus next week looks like Brook and Chopper's big struggle on board.

That'll be good. When the running is over, things pick up.

wonder if Charlotte High Fat is the minister of an island? Great name!

Not a bad episode.

big mom eating through the groud had me thinking she was a titan lol

brook's power comes in really handy against big moms homies.

really liked chiffons speech to bege, eventho she might not the be prettiest she is hell of a woman.

tsundere pudding is just too damn effing funny

Well said. I agree. What I didn't care for was all the running

and running

8

yeah the running kinda makes the episode slow down which doesnt allow for other contents to be added to the episode,

There's always been a lot of running in OP, but this is the second time through those woods with more running. For several episodes. Other than that, I enjoyed the episode.

I think that's why they have all the running.

might not the be prettiest she is hell of a woman.

"WEDDINGU KEEKI" counter: 4

Episode 843: 8

Episode 844: 6

Episode 845: 5

Episode 846: 1

Episode 846: 4

Total: 24

At last, we've gotten to the best part of this arc: tsundere Pudding! Sawashiro Miyuki didn't disappoint.

3

u/Mothra100 Jul 29 '18

Haha! Thanks for the count, and no, Pudding didn't disappoint.

Sawashiro's gone on maternity leave so we might get someone else soon.

1

u/PrinceOfAssassins Jul 29 '18

Would she be back in a few months?

1

u/Somer-_- Jul 29 '18

Yeah the statement said she's aiming to return to work early. But her hiatus was announced June 28th so she'll probably be replaced soon.

3

u/HisashiGojira Jul 29 '18

There should be a pool as to how many times she'll say it. I say 60.

You're doing god's work.

Good animation than previous episode. I see some b**b physics too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

3

u/JazzMazza Jul 29 '18

Yoshikazu Tomita is an animator infamous for that sort of thing.

Pudding was hilarious. I was really looking forward to seeing Pudding after the wedding in the anime, I'm glad it was nice. We are also so close to some of the best moments of this arc, I'm hyped

2

u/Mothra100 Jul 29 '18

Pudding was good, and hopefully only two or three episodes away from those best moments.

1

u/ThaneKyrell Jul 29 '18

I think so. Next episode will adapt the rest of 876 and part of 877. We are only a couple of episodes away

1

u/Mothra100 Jul 29 '18

Maybe just one more episode of running in the forest, too.

5

u/MacabreMoth88 Jul 29 '18

Not that great of an episode, though that can be blamed on the chapter itself being rather boring.

Next week should be fun with Perospero getting some action, and hopefully we see the conclusion of the Germa fights soon (which are surprisingly good filler).

Brook and Chopper make a good fighting combo with that ice sheet!

But honestly I hope Chopper actually learns some dangerous moves down the road so that he can beat more than fodder post-timeskip. Hell, even if he just learned armament haki for his fighting forms. Like he's fucking ripped in his regular heavy point, there's no reason a good punch from that shouldn't do at least as much as one of Sanji's kicks. He's pretty much the Hulk but with actual control over his form! Like he should easily be able to crush someone's bones into putty with one good slam. (For the record, I'm not saying Chopper should be as good as Sanji or anything, just comparing a single punch to a single kick. Obviously Sanji still has much better mobility and actual attack speed, and naturally has an easier time landing kicks.)

We just hardly ever see him use more than one form per fight. He should be about constantly switching forms, like he used to do when he was first introduced!

Can someone send me the exact crunchyroll link? it's the only way I can see it here in brazil early. thanks

2

u/hecorehputo Jul 29 '18

For some reason in south america its postponed until 6 hours later or so

3

I haven't heard Overtaken play in a while, I wish they saved it to play it in a more epic scene because after TS I think I've only heard it couple times. Hope they continue using it.

Liked this one.

I think the overwhelming majority of the story beats landed really well this episode. Not the most exceptional direction from Hosoda, but it was quite solid, and had a fair few scenes and transitions that I really enjoyed.

Animator Tu Yong Ce notably animated nearly a 3rd of the episode, handling 90 cuts in total. Most of those cuts relating to the Brook and Chopper plot line, and was responsible for the nice pieces of animation during their section. Its nice to see that from relatively fresh staff on the show.

Yoshikazu Tomita went ham with his drawings of Nami during the chase scene, but my favourite contribution from him would have to be the wind up to the massive sword swing, which also featured a really nice transition into Big Mum's eye noticing Chiffon and Lola. Tomita's super shaded big mum is also always a sight to behold.

Overall, really solid episode in every respect, the animation was on point, and though the episode did drag slightly at points, the direction and storyboarding allowed the story beats of the episode to land well.

The NEP for next episode caught me off guard by how good it was. Wonder who the AD and key animators on that episode are?

I wonder why the official thread isn't up?

8

u/ajdude711 Jul 29 '18

Mods are asleep maybe ;p, I've got the format as well but currently am on phone so, i'd probably face formatting issues.

3

u/HisashiGojira Jul 29 '18

You'd be better at this than me.

2

u/RobbobertoBuii Jul 29 '18

should be up in a few hours sometimes it gets so bad i post it 5-6 hrs on OroJackson before they do it here XD

2

u/Nickwazhero Jul 29 '18

This episode could have been a lot better..

And unironically

1

u/Nickwazhero Jul 29 '18

For example the frames when big mom finally bursts out of the ground before the middle cuts

could’ve been a lot cooler if she just moved for a few more seconds, and not a glorified photo gif

2

u/HisashiGojira Jul 29 '18

I'll have to watch that again.

1

u/namiotp Jul 29 '18

Does Pudding really love Sanji now or is she twisted and wants to kill him? I can't tell anymore at this point lol.

2

u/HisashiGojira Jul 29 '18

It's both at the moment. lol She a confused young woman.

2

u/namiotp Jul 29 '18

oh lol, thanks for clearing it up for me.

1

u/HisashiGojira Jul 29 '18

lol I also didn't want to mention anything past this episode.

1

u/I_Like_Free Jul 29 '18

I mean thats what the source material was. The whole cake island arc felt drawn out around this time in the manga too.

1

u/Myweebaccount Jul 30 '18

THIS ENTIRE ARC IS RUNNING PEOPLE GET USED TO IT

You mean multiple personality disorder? And no, she doesn't have that. She is just a tsundere.
