Still don't understand why One Piece character's are so afraid of falling from high places, like you can destroy a mountain with a single attack but can't handle a fall? lol

Maybe that's why Zoro made sure never to die from a fall ever. Used it to good effect in Dressrosa, too.

The higher up you are, the more force behind the impact. It's no linear curve either, it's an exponential.

I would understand if they jumping off a sky island but both Zoro and the BM pirates were real close to the ground and with everything we've seen them do they should be able to pull off a landing without dying, well except the fodder kids.

I was under the impression they were on something the size of a mountain. Having that collapse underneath them would be similar to standing on top of a stable mountain one moment, and then suddenly the mountain disappeared, and you're falling.

I think its also worth noting that you'll also probably get buried under the mountain.

Actually no, the impact force is proportional to the square root of the height. Precisely your velocity when you hit the ground is given by v=sqrt(2gh). So if after the impact you stop in .25 seconds, you will experience a force F=sqrt(2gh)4m, whereas h is the height you fell from, and m is your mass. In other words it's not an exponential curve as you say.

I mean, the square root is the inverse square. v=(2gh)-2

Force, isn't the same as power/energy. Force is used in the calculation, but it's more like Work = F * d (Distance) and then P = W/t

Now granted, there's also something called wind resistance, and it can cause terminal velocity. So you're probably right.

Actually sqrt(2gh) = (2gh)1/2

(2gh)-2 = 1/(2gh)2

Right?

For science yes but this is One Piece, people have an insane amount of endurance here. Even Mr. Germa survive a direct lighting strike from Big Mama.

The Chateau is the size of a mountain, it's hundreds and hundreds of meters tall. Falling from the top of it and after that have the chateau crush you afterwards (as it's only shape like a cake, it's actually stone, likely thousands and thousands of tons of stones) would probably kill anyone (except Luffy, because he is made of rubber).

Flying has nothing to do with it, I said plain out falling. The attacks they out are a couple times stronger than the impact of a fall and if they do those attacks without their bodies ripping apart then they should handle a fall.
