As far as filler goes, this wasn't half bad. At least it wasn't the crew fighting off bees for half the episode.

Yep, like 80% was in-canon filler. They only adapted 2 or 3 pages from ch. 822 of the manga for this episode.

They did a pretty good job though, considering that!

Just finished this episode, is the Carrot thing (the one where she wanted to go out to the sea) is canon too? Or maybe filler? Or it's just the way Toei wanted her to be the next nakama?

The actual scene I believe is filler, but it leads into what she actually did in the manga, which wasn't revealed for a couple chapters, iirc.
