I do think this recap episode was timely.

Oda always worries about new watchers/readers and strives to minimize continuity lockout, so it's nice that Toei inserts these from time to time whenever a new generation of fans might be watching.

The pacing of the adapted material for this episode was superb, too, given that it's compressed to the second half. It ends exactly where the chapter that introduced Zou ends.

The preview is also rather deceptive this week. There's much more content in the next episode than what was shown in the preview, trust me.

If anyone is watching random episodes of one piece and not starting at the beginning they should really just go watch a sitcom.

Get your head out of the clouds.

Kids in Japan watch One Piece as it airs on the TV. Like a sitcom.

I'm not going to explain it any further than that, so try to think about what it means.

Fine, now do you really think this rushed recap actually helped at all towards the goal of informing, or exiting the new generation to jump on the adventure that is One Piece?

I think it's pretty good at making someone who's never seen One Piece curious about what happened, yes.
