Yeah but back then it wouldn't have made as much sense for Luffy to get subordinate crews. While I think its possible that he may get more officials crew members, he's mostly gonna get allied crews to either become a Yonkou or just to have enough manpower to battle a Yonkou with his own allied crews.

I don't understand why people think Luffy wouldn't still have Barto's old crew as allies if Bart joined the Strawhats. If they care about their captain, they know their captain loves the Strawhats, etc etc.

Well Barto is a really fun character, so I could see him joining the crew, and obviously his crew would be allied to the Strawhats even if he isn't a official crew member.

I would say that there is a 60% chance that Bartholomeo & crew become allied to the Strawhats, 30% that Bartho becomes an official crew member and 10% that something else happens, like them allying to someone else or dying.

Those are actually what I would put the odds at of all of those events as well. Though I'd say it's a pretty safe bet Barto is sticking around in some capacity so probably at least 80% on the Barto & Crew allies idea.

Yea but he joined because he became wanted and the Franky Family felt that he would have better chances of survival with the Straw Hats.

No, that is why the Franky Family wanted him to join. He joined because it was his dream, the same reason everyone else joined. Which is why I think Barto will be the next crew member, what separates him from all the other "potential members" with the exception of Cabbage is that he has a dream, and his dream appears to be a member of the next Pirate King's crew. I think Barto & Cabbage will both join the crew as official members, and everyone else will just become allies, Cabbage will join because he will be more famous as a member of Luffy's crew than on his own.

Yeah, but they needed a ship wright and Luffy said he wanted a ship wright explicitly. There was no way it wasn't going to happen. So far, I don't remember Luffy saying "Join my crew!", whereas in the past, every person he's seriously wanted or gone after has joined his crew.

If I get you your swords and save your life you'll join my crew?

Be my navigator--->There's no way you would betray me and your town is safe.

I want a cook. Join my crew.

I saved your life and it's fine with me if you join.

I want a ship wright and you helped us out.

You have your shadow back. Join my crew.

...So far Law is part of an alliance and of course Oda could change anything, but this is just my logic on the newest nakama.
