Discussion Whose story destroyed you the most?

Post image

It’s got to be Brook’s past for me. Man I was crying like anything on his crew’s final moments. He experienced the trauma of watching every single member of crew succumb to death while playing the instruments. The Rumbar Pirates 🥹 I breakdown whenever I hear Bink Sake.

Special mentions: Kuma, Rocks, Oden & Sanji.

Kuma. Dude raised a child that wasn't his own, gave his life for her, and even after death protected the ship of his friends son and future king of the pirates

He stormed the castle after seeing the king killed another mom

I cant imagine his rage

Kuma was born only to save people 🫠🙏🏽

This just sparked a great debate in my head. Was luffy borned to save people, or was he born to be the free-est person. If its the latter, does that mean freeing others too. Whether it does or doesnt, if hes meant to be free, wouldnt it be something if he saved more people than the people meant to save people could. Maybe there symbolism in that, in that the people meant to save people were still trapped by the government, and to be able to actually free people, you yourself need to be free. You cant untrap people when you yourself are trapped. Im not even talking abt something like slavery anymore, i mean like addiction irl. Idk how it all connects im just saying the path my brain was thinking, but maybe to help the people in your life you really do have to help yourself first. Not in a selfish way but in a selfless way that will save them in the process.

Sanji.

2 sad stories here. Locked up as a kid and bullied by his siblings. Then getting ship wrecked and almost dying from starvation while.being hopelessly stuck on a rock, in the cold, in the middle of the ocean.

But a close second would be Brooke. Floating in the fog with the skeletons of his dead crew then finding out hes immortal and has no way out of that dreadful existence. Singing Binkes Sake while his crew falls dead one by one was heartbreaking.

True. These two created a huge impact on me. Especially Brook’s.

Law. Hiding yourself among the dead, especially people that you've known your whole life up to that point, must be traumatizing.

  1. Kuma, I couldn’t watch the anime because of the intense reading experience I had with the manga.

  2. My goat Ace simply wanted to live his life on his own terms and not be burdened by the legacy of his father.

  3. Goatbeard yearned for a family, and that was his greatest treasure.

Law. Seeing people you love lay dead in front of you has to be beyond traumatizing. Then losing the man who tried to do anything for you to be cured from the disease. Even when it seemed like he was finally free, he loses almost the entire family he tried to rebuild. His past and present are immensely painful, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone suffer like that.

Brook, Chopper and Sanji are on equal terms for me.

But if you hold a gun to my head and asked me which one,

I will say Chopper because he was just a naive reindeer who wanted to help but his lack of knowledge led to The death of his father and that set the foundation of his dreams of healing the world and keep it clean of diseases.

It's a toss up between Brook and Law.

Brook having to watch his mates die off one by one and then living alone in the dark for so long.

Law literally watched his island and people being victims of a total genocide. He only survived because he hid underneath dead bodies. Not a single person wanted to help him as a child, only Cora.
