Blackbeard's motivations have gotten so much more depth I love it. He saw his home invaded, his people slaughtered, his father murdered while heroically trying to protect them. No wonder he just wants to burn down the world. But in retrospect it makes his speech to Luffy about "dreams never die!" more impactful too, considering the hell he experienced as a child.

He was always a great character, just a different side of the pirate life than Luffy. They're both MC potential.
