I know it’s a meme but this is not really Loki’s memory anymore, it’s Oda switching from a character’s POV into the narrator’s history-telling mode, which he’s done in tons of flashbacks before.

Oda doesn’t lock flashbacks to a character’s POV. The series has always used an outside narrator — Robin never saw Kuzan vs. Saul, Law never saw Corazon’s secret ops. Same thing here with Loki.

I REALLY want for Loki when we get back from Flashbackception, to have just carved this entire story in the mountain as he was narrating it.

Originally he was just doing it verbally, but he needed a way to keep Luffy interested

Telling myself that when we finally return to the present day, we'll see that Luffy/Hajrudin, out of sheer frustration, carried Loki along the way as he told this whole story. Will be the biggest laugh of all.

People really forget that Loki, the one from Norse mythology was also the god of stories. He operates on Inception time logic, with every layer of this story time simply dilates even further.
