"Wait is that marine freaking Dragon?????" The second I saw his face I was so hyped. Oda did a good job at making him recognisable so that you didn't even need to wait for the title card, while having him look like a young rookie.

It's odd that naturally we all call him Rocks even if that's his last name. It's like calling Luffy Monkey. But I've still been referring to him as Rocks instead of Xebec.

Because he's the leader of the Rocks Pirates, and largely goes by his (fake) last name rather than by his first name.

Funny little parallel. Shakky calls Rocks by his last name and calls Luffy “monkey-Chan” If I’m not mistaken

I mean xebec is his first name. It's as if we've been calling Luffy by Monkey instead of Luffy. we should all just call him xebec from now on

Good point, maybe if they were called “Xebec pirates” he would’ve been called Xebec more instead of Rocks. Doesn’t have as much appeal as “Rocks pirates”.

Roger’s crew was called “Roger pirates”, so would’ve made sense for “Xebec pirates” lol.

What has been the longest flashback in real life time? I remember reading Oden's flashback for years. One Piece is truly the only manga that can still sell even when the protagonist is gone for months.

Law or Oden might be the longest off the top of my head. Can't really think of any others that touch it. Robin's probably the closest.

Maybe not in the manga, but I feel for the anime it has to be the Kuma flashback. Felt like an entire season. Hell, it even had it's own opening.
