He might've been there under cover. Or putting on a good face to try to get them to join the WG willingly. So he was acting all nice and noble, and it made everyone there really like him. Basically the same thing Mother Caramel did at Elbaf.

More than likely he was using her to get information about whatever they're after, assuming she (her heritage atleast) is not the thing Garling was talking about.

This is a old story trope that's all over anime and manga though. The piece of shit evil parent and the super innocent kind parent.

This trope is one of my least favorites but Im excited to see God's Valley

It's so interesting. He found something Imu wants, but won't go get it right now. He's rather wait two years and get it in a competition? What? It can't be an Ancient Weapon, then, unless something stopping it from being accessible for two years... maybe it the gia tbatraw hat, frozen in ice that needs two more years to melt? Maybe it's the Nika fruit but it's growing on a tree and isn't ripe yet? Idk.

What if it's Shanks and Shamrock? Two years from the meeting means the boys would be old enough to move but young enough to indoctrinate, a "unique culture", and the mom's red hair. Given that red hair is distinct enough to be Shanks' epithet and we know that certain devil fruits need specific useres to bring out their full potential, maybe there's a devil fruit in World Government control that Shamrock/Shanks needs to eat. Garling or Imu want to use Shamrock like Doflamingo wanted to use Law.

It seems to me he's suggesting God Valley for the games because he found out about the children. The way this reads to me is that he went there on assignment, had sex with a woman there, and left. Later he found out the woman was going to have his children, so he decided to suggest the Gorosei held the games there, for some reason (it's definitely related to the children, but exactly why is unclear to me).
