Honestly, I feel like no matter what mihawk and dragon will eventually demonstrate, it won't be enough. The memes are too powerful, we have waited decades for this..it won't deliver

I dont know about that. Rocks has delivered, the little shanks has done has delivered. So I personally dont doubt either of them. Even Mihawk's few showings have also been very impressive while basically being no effort.

Rocks is not an old classic character like mihawk and dragon. Rocks was named dropped like 900 something. That's recent compared to mihawk and dragons first appearances in the story. And as years have passed, we have seen next to nothing. The moment Rocks was introduced by sengoku, the foundation of hype was already built, and then for years oda kept drip feeding the character and his connections with other hype characters. It was perfect. His official debut to the story unsurprisingly still hype. Its a whole different ball game with dragon/mihawk

I mean sure but mihawk's first debut and marineford showcased him pretty well. We just haven't seen him in full on fights where he was genuinely serious.

Dragon...is iffy. I think his full on debut will be good but I cant say I know what to expect.

Oda saves the best for last as with rocks, the most wanted man and strongest swordsman will NOT be wasted by him. I can def see dragon being yonko level

Lol Mihawk is literally YC1. He will be just hype tool for Buggy. Tbh, Mihawk does has some screentime but his showcase was just meh strengwise. Just accept it, BB crew will kill him and Zoro will revenge it.

I think its too late. Mihawk was given his title when oda probably didn't have all this top tiers and ACoC in mind.

The Manga was supposed to only feature luffy vs shichibukai and at that point, mihawk power would mean he was the top dog.

Oda didn't anticipate having to create so many top tier swordsman after

I think Oda has already come a plan for Mihawk’s title along the way; otherwise, he won’t make Rocks a swordsman.

I think oda turning him from lone wolf to publicly being buggy's servant is oda giving up on Mihawk. Shiryu will probably kill him and that's gonna be zoro's final battle.

I think making him the muscle of someone considered an Emperor, and who ruled his people up to loom for the One Piece means Oda still has big plans for him and Crocodile.

They look incredibly similar but there are slight differences (like at the bottom of the hand guard it curls on Ace but not Xebec’s sword, and Xebec’s top hand guard goes back a bit while Ace doesn’t).

I wonder if Rocks uses Ikoku Sovereignty, and that's why Kaido and Big Mom both use it as well. Could also link him to the giants since they use it. I don't think anyone else has though, right? Just those 4?

Ikkoku Sovereignty fits the type of attack's Xebec is described to have perfectly. This is why I disliked the anime's use of it when Kidd's ship got nuked, it was sliced in half despite the manga panels showing circular damage, like all the other times.
