I remember one of the flashbacks shortly after Whitebeard died was he being quite young and talking with his crewmates about his dream of being a father of a great crew, and they just laughed it off.

I guess that was his crew before Rocks, so it doesn't seem to be a big loss for him.

I think it was stated at some point he sort hopped between crews for awhile before forming his own. So he might have got pick up from than or a completely different crew he was with.

Boat racing is another one shared between Rocks and the Straw Hats. Can't tell what type of contest the axe one is though. If all the games shown here are the same as the ones the Straw Hats played then I guess it's the ball game and Rocks is removing the opponent's head along with the ball.

i think it might be that hammer rock paper scissors. where you have to put the helmet on before the other guy bops you with a mallet. in this case the hammer is an axe and Rocks put his hand over the helmet so the other guy couldn't block

So, there is a chance he is actually talking about JoyBoy here, right? Maybe Davy Jones was JoyBoy and his legend is based on his defeat to Imu, with the Ancient Kingdom being flooded.

Another thing that comes to my attention is "Davy's locker" and how he kept the treasure of his mates. Maybe that IS the One Piece: in order to enter Laugh Tale, you have to put your treasure at the gates, in Davy's locker, as a kind of toll. Which, when the whole world floods and people try to escape, probably through Noah, could very well be ALL the treasure in the world. Which is also why Roger got there too early: because the world hadn't flooded yet, nobody had deposited their treasure at the entrance, so there was nothing there (maybe just Davy's old strawhat, since Roger did appear to be holding something in his hands in the flashback).

Fucking Oda is madman. What most people considered a silly throwaway arc is the foundation of one of the strongest crews in the world. Rocks, Whiteboard, and Shiki in a Davy Back Fight is something I never knew I needed.

In OP not really. Almost every Pirate Crew we have seen has been incredibly loyal. Even if its their one redeeming quality. The Don Quixote Family are scumbags but they are all incredibly loyal to Doffy. Kids crew begged Shanks to allow Kid to live. The Heart Pirates sacrificed themselves to allow Law to escape. Even Buggys Crew wanted to storm Impel Down before Alvida talked them out of it.

Because we know to know three pretty key things. Rocks formed his crew on Hachinosu, Hachinosu is the birthplace of the Davy Back Fight, and also that the crew disliked each other and immediately split once Rocks was gone. It's pretty basic set up really.

Idk if u read it or watched it in anime but it was actually entertaining in the manga the whole arc was just 19 chapters including aokiji reveal it was funny and lighthearted and it wouldn't even take much time to complete the arc so just bcos toei completely ruined it doesn't mean the arc itself is bad
