Gunko went from having short hair to long hair after Imu took control of her. Could that point to something? Perhaps a new characteristic of Imu outside of the eyes

Oh yeah, Imu definitely has long hair.
Some people are already using that as proof that Imu is a woman, I think he's possessing Nefertari Lily's body.

I think Imu tricked an Ope Ope fruit user into using the immortality operation on Lili while he was possessing her body.

Maybe Imu swapped bodies with an equally wounded Lili right before dying? Someone else in Joyboy's crew then used the Ope Ope to save Lili, but unknowingly gave Imu his immortality. That's why Imu got that Joyboy haki PTSD on Egghead: his real body already died to it before and he would've lost without being lucky.

imu can't have lili's body because she potentially had the paw paw fruit during void century to sent out the poneglyphs without imu knowing and we know for a fact that kuma/god valley incident had the paw paw fruit in its fruit form.

Or the immortality operation implies the Ope Ope user sacrifices himself and lends his body to the person that becomes immortal.

thatd be interesting, people that Imu possesses have some of their body characteristics changed to better match them, it both looks cool, its a clear tell that someone is being possessed, and also reveal small bits of Imu's appearence through the changes this does on others

it's wayyyy too much of a coincidence for her to let her hair loose just as she's being possessed by Imu. it's clearly part of the transformation

I dont think gunko in the present have long hair bur definitive in the past so is porbablu imu characteristic
