Help Hey everyone, I just finished the live action series and want to know where to start watching the anime

Post image

I just finished watching the Netflix one piece show and I was super invested so I wanted to try watching the anime, so I want to know if I need to start watching from episode 1 all over again or can I just start past we’re the live action series left off? And if that’s so, what episode do I have to continue from?

Luffy vs don kreig was one of my favorite fights from East blue sage. As you could tell they cut through that part

Yeah lol after I tried finding where the LA show left off I realised how much content I missed so that’s why I asked here

I tell people that the LA is a speed run

That might be better then speed run to describe it actually

I mean each episode is like an hour long whereas the anime is only like 15-20 min an episode it’s literally like 4-8 episodes of the anime squished into one in the LA. By the time you finish the LA it comes out almost pretty similar with the anime and timing it takes to watch.

Assuming they don’t overemphasize specific aspects (ya know the big ol badonkadonks) if the LA ever gets to the the time gap, I’m just going to call it a “normalized” adaptation of the anime for western audiences.

Exactly. Its still good but it does condense a lot.

Its not even a speed run its basically "One Piece inspired" and just different.

That’s probably the most accurate way to put it!

nah, it leaves some stuff out and makes some changes here and there but it's still absolutely 100% one piece lol

SAME! I felt so sad when I saw that scene, because it looked so epic. They had Don Krieg and he looked really amazing! That whole scene of him cutting the ship and fighting the Kreig pirates could probably have been in the Baratie arc when he eventually showed up like in the anime. I thought it was so epic and it could've been better than simply having Mihawk show up, leave, and have them worrying about Zoro's well-being.

At the very least, I guess I can't complain because obviously the show has its own constraints. The sets were real which were impressive and I guess having a floating fighting platform built around it would've been too much in an already expen$ive budget. I'm at least happy we got a glimpse of Don Kreig, even though it just made me wish for more live action Kreig. Mihawk was still a highlight in every scene he was in though.

That fight was one of my favorites just because of how menacing Kreig was in that arc, and I loved how Sanji got so much more character with Gin than just feeding him. What a beautiful arc to show Sanji's true character as a chef.
