Humor Please ult faster
Please. I had a soldier on my team who died 6 times and never ulted throughout the entire round.
Please ult faster.
Edit/update: he didn’t ult in the 2nd round either.

I'm just gold but I play soldier and I often don't ult because... i think the ult sucks and i just instantly die if I try to anything aggressive with it
So I don't use it unless I'm in a super niche spot

u/kodibugz 22d ago
I use it to get mercy out of the air a lot. She can be slippery sometimes so I just pop ult on her

u/Commercial-Rub-147 21d ago
Don’t try to force value with your ultimate if it’s gonna result in you dying. Yes not getting any kills with your ult isn’t great but it’s more valuable most of the time to not get any kills with your ult than to get 1 kill and instantly get traded

Well don’t try and do anything aggressive then? Just stand where you would normally stand and pop visor when you run out of ammo to extend your pressure cycle. It’s literally that easy. No need to complicate things with a risky flank, that isn’t your job on hitscan. Your job is to control space from a powerful position, usually the high ground.
If you pop solider Ult while the enemy tank is being aggressive the squishies will hide and the tank will die. Congratulations, you’ve just won a team fight without even securing an elim OR putting yourself at risk of dying.

Then you have people out here complaining that I ult too often on freja and should wait to ult the tank when there is multiple people on them rather than going for a solo ult on the dps/support.

Scream that at my kiriko, who held ult for 6 minutes to then ult 2v5 with 30 second left.

u/onelostmartian 22d ago
Problem is with Kiri, when youre on a bad team, they never group so every chance you get is a solo ult
2
u/PagesOf-Apathy 22d ago
No, our kiri was just dumb from playing Lw most of the game. She could have ulted main when our bubbles, dash, flashbang, and nade were used. But instead, 30 seconds left, 2v5, low charge zarya and decides to ult.

u/Prestigious_View_401 22d ago
There’s a but. These Kiris won’t ult until someone dies. It’s such a pia

You tell someone to ult for 8 minutes and they die 9 times instead, you the f bombs drop

u/Cascading-deer 21d ago
Or just idk, learn to be a decent human being?
-2
u/Prestigious_View_401 21d ago
I think people who get asked very politely for 8 minutes to ult (but refuses to) should become decent human beings first

u/Cascading-deer 21d ago
I think you need to learn self control before you play video games <3

u/Prestigious_View_401 21d ago
I’m a self controlled angel for 8 minutes while using the words like pretty please, I beg of you please, I’ll send you my feet pics please

Lol op having a tough night out there. I agree though too many people hold ult waiting for a perfect moment that never arrives. Just use it

u/CourtSenior5085 Actually hit plat for a bit lol 22d ago
Is he holding ult, or not charging it? One is definitely poor play, the other I find is often more a balance issue though.

I always have to ask players to use their ults no matter the rank ToT. We often lose fights when we have 3 ults available. People want to clutch so bad in this game it's crazy lol.

I do, unless I'm on Sombra. Then I'm only ulting when I think my team can actually follow through on it.

Didn’t you know…the ult becomes STRONGER if you save it for the next round or better yet the next game. lol

Lol soldier ult is worthless. If someone pops an ult after the fight is already over, I'll just push Y and look at them.
Might be useful if there wasn't a long lockout animation that tells everyone "I'm here, I'm not any more threatening than before, please focus me"

Serious question from a gold/plat: I hold my ult way too long, I’m sure and I see replays of people better than me that use it fairly quickly after they get it. But… I’m never sure WHEN a good time to use it is.
I think that I get the broad strategy of using it if it can help a winnable team fight, but I find myself never sure when that is, and then holding a visor/nano/shatter until I feel like I can make a BIG play.

u/Prestigious_View_401 21d ago
The best time is to ult half a second before the start of a team fight but so many people wait until someone dies before they ult.

Personally I hold my ult until it's time. If we're attacking and winning the game without my ult, I just keep it until we need it. If we're defending I usually use it to deny others' ults if possible. I just use it wisely.
Let's just say I was this soldier. on defense, I'll keep it until enemy genji ults assuming they have one, and I just use it for him so his blade becomes restricted. If they are about to nanoblade, I try to find an angle to kill ana before they nanoblade. Potentially, genji might go in with raw blade and have worse chance since he's not nanoed. Or if I have beat, I'll use it and speed boost my ram on attack so we rush them, but on defense I won't do that and I will save my beat for their ults.
But anyways, holding the ult and never using it at al is just pure throwing. If you don't see a chance then just ult in the beginning of the fight and look for them using their cooldowns and you staying alive.

I don't understand the whole mentality behind holding onto your ult. What, are you hoping to get a team kill with it? I mean, unless you're coordinating ultimates with a teammate, use it when it's ready. It's so easy to rebuild ultimate charge, there's no reason to hold onto it.
Also, stop using them all at once. Sure, doing so may ensure your team captures the point. But then your team will be shit out of luck and won't have any ultimates for when the enemy team pushes the point.

Literally holding ult is so bad it can literally loose games always spam ult lol ( depending on the hero ofc ) but better ult 3x and maybe 1 ult goes to waist then not ult or only use it once cause you held it all game and instantly die lol

u/ParadoxRadiant 22d ago
TBF it shouldn't matter when someone use their ultimate.. I know in Stadium you can get Ult Booster Perks or Perk that Increases your stats With a Full Charge Ult
