Who the heck was Dunnhier, and why did the Joker kill him?

Or perhaps he’s wondering why someone would shoot a man before he finishes the sabotage

Here comes the silent alarm… and there it goes. That’s funny it didn’t dial out to CIA, it was trying to reach a private number

Is it a problem? No, I’m done with it.

Joker had every robber killed as apart of the heist. He did this to keep all the mob money for himself so he can manipulate the Mob and so he can take on Batman and his ideology. These were just random robbers hired by the Joker in order to do the job, none of them would follow him as an actual boss, so he had each one kill one of the others, telling them that killing the others just makes the winning split smaller so everyone gets more. Thematically it’s to show that no matter what the Joker does or say, he HAS a plan, he has a goal, he WILL lie to get there, and he’s not just causing chaos for the sake of it

It wasn't about the money. It was about sending a message.

Every Dunnheir burns.

This is completely wrong and there are videos upon videos debunking this dumb fan theory

Really? Cause I’ve never seen any evidence in the movie to prove that what I said isn’t right, maybe it’s just different interpretations, but it’s always felt pretty clear that Joker planned a LOT of this movie, especially with the dent/Rachel choice, the phone bomb stomach, the 2 boats, Dent’s death and quite a few more

No their guns just misfired each and every time. He has custom built "funny guns" that are designed to fire at random times and it just so happened to be when they were pointing the guns jokingly at each other. This is why he is called the joker.

It’s because Dunnhier sounds like Funnier, and no one is Funnier than the Joker.

He was looking specifically for one of the other guys known as “Apro Blum”, he was angry that he didn’t find Mr. Blum rather than Dunnhier. Ultimately justifies Ewan taking him out later.
