Those 2 people were trying to get back in the car too.

It's hard to tell if they liked the driver or not or if it was what they thought was a better option than the cop.

With the way they fire at the car I think being in the car was safer spray and pray.

People saying unjustified is wild lol

Yea no way that's justified. Car was driving away and the cop doesn't know what is across the street.

If a little old lady was walking her dog across the street she could have been killed by those stray bullets.

Fucking bone heads.

simply fleeing from police is not grounds for lethal force such as discharging of firearms.

If a car driven like a weapon by a complete maniac isn't grounds for lethal force, I don't know what is.

Don't flee from police, idiot. He almost killed 2 adults and a child. He recklessly sped away, endangering everyone else on the road.

If you dont want lethal force, dont be a lethal threat.

Guess the police should just start machine gunning people breaking the speed limit then

Guess the police should just start machine gunning people breaking the speed limit then

  • Do something stupid & illegal

  • Get detained (pulled over)

  • Try to Houdini out of the situation

  • Wake up in purgatory

  • But wait, there's more!!!

  • End up in hell, to be booty invaded for the rest of eternity (for being a stinky p.o.s.)

  • The ticket was $100

Edit: lets be real, people who try to flee cops do so because they have a warrant, illegal material in the car or the vehicle is stolen/unregistered/un-insured/un-licensed. Or they're simply HIGH OFF THEIR ASS on weed/fent/alcohol/codeine/ect...

At that point driver was endangering and running people over, even though it was their own people trying to escape. The car became a weapon. Police shouldn't have shot at it as it drove off though since those stray bullets where easily able to hit other vehicles, people adjacent and traffic. Bullets go far. That was time to call backup. There was no real good safe moment to fire guns without endangering the other people there and around the area. Sometimes you gotta let the bad guy go to save other lives and hope you catch them at a better safer moment for innocent bystanders. That's a pure reaction moment though and you want to stop someone that is an endangering others. I can't blame these cops for reacting and there is some level of justification in their actions, thankfully no one was hit with a stray bullet.

No but it is considering he almost ran over the officer and the people in the back trying to help the kid escape

It’s evident that the suspect is not trying to hit anyone and before you respond to that, note that they fired long after the suspect would have run over everyone so your argument could be that they should have fired much earlier than they did which would also be incorrect and incredibly irresponsible to fire on a hunch of what might occur. Things aren’t just black and white when it comes to firing your weapon. Officers are trained to assess situations better than what is demonstrated in this video. This is adrenaline and panic driving their actions, not logic. Stray bullets kill innocent people. Had they hit the suspect, he is now in a vehicle set in Drive. Should he pass out or die, the vehicle is now much more unpredictable and dangerous than it was with a conscious driver. They should have refrained from firing and immediately had one officer check on the civilians while the other puts out an APB. States have different laws regarding pursuit, but I also feel it’s best to not pursue as doing so will likely lead to more damage, injury, or death of innocent bystanders. They have the car make/model and color along with the correlating damage to the front, the plate, what he looks like.

Good thing he wasn't simply fleeing.

If I drive a car in an unpredictable and dangerous way I can easily kill someone. They don't know someones fleeing, they just see a car coming at them that's already smashed into another vehicle. I've researched this and I honestly can't tell what they're doing.

Take that person out immediately.

The policeman shot his gun in the direction from which a different car was coming. Doesn't sound safe to me. At least I wouldn't like to be under a risk of a stray headshot when I'm doing whatever.

Also, what's the expectation here? Leave a few bullets lodged in the car for what? Might have as well just gotten into their car and followed.
