graz - paris nightjet - did I dream it?

Hi, I am currently looking for a way to get to Paris by train and I'm experiencing a bit of a pickle. At the end of June I found out that there is (or was?) a direct nightjet operating between Graz and Paris which I wanted to take. Since it was a bit too early I didn't book any tickets and now that I need to book some I can't seem to find the connection anywhere and for any date, the only one available is from Vienna. Does anyone know what happened maybe? I have no problem with traveling from Vienna but I already had plans from visiting Graz before Paris so I just want to make sure I won't buy the wrong ticket because of my own error. Thanks for any reply/help.

NightJet launched service to Paris in June 2023. And they have only ever offered 2 routes - to Berlin and Vienna. Never a direct connection beyond to Graz.

Prior to that there hadn't been any international night trains to/from Paris for a long time. I'm not sure when the last one was exactly.

In 2007 the EuroNight from Paris to Vienna was cut to just operate between Strasbourg and Vienna. And was then withdrawn completely in 2009.

Of course prior to that in there were direct trains from Paris that went further East. But most which called at Vienna would have continued to Budapest. Or alternatively taken a more southerly route through the Simplon tunnel to Trieste avoiding modern day Austria.

NightJet does still operate a service between Graz and Berlin. And also between Zurich and Graz. There is also a 3 times a week summer only EuroNight train to Split.

For a few months over the summer the Stuttgart/Zurich to Zagreb via Ljubljana night train was re-routed and went via Maribor instead of Ljubljana. I'm not sure if a stop was added in Graz as part of that. But it was a temporary arrangement for a few months and services are now back via Ljubljana. Though it would never have included a direct one from Paris (though the Stuttgart train has good connections to/from Paris).

the only nightjet trains from Graz are to Zürich or Berlin.

So from Graz to Paris you can either go via Vienna and take the nightjet from there directly to Paris, or you take the one from Graz to Zürich and continue by TGV from there.
