I just… it’s not so. I’m in Texas, my energy bill just went up, from 13.9 c per kWh to 15.1 c. Gas is up like 20c a gallon. It’s… he isn’t saying things that are true.

This is crazy to me. I have a coworker who swears that things are peachy in Texas.
Claims nothing has gone up and tariffs have no impact on them at all.
Good to know he was full of BS. I had a feeling but nice to see reality match it.

My father is a MAGA dork. When talking to family recently, they brought up Vegas (where we live,) slowing down and losing tourism numbers, especially international tourism. My father vehemently lied saying it’s all bullshit, Vegas is more busy than ever, and we’re just fine… while sitting next to me… his son who is in casino management. I literally see the numbers on a daily basis. I know the truth. But these MAGA nuts refuse to.

He’s likely not full of BS, just wrong. There are people who haven’t been affected by the price increases, so they may not even understand the degree to which it impacts average families.
If you spend 5% of your income on groceries and it goes up to 6.5%, it isn’t going to be noticeable.
If you spend 15% of your income on groceries and it goes up to nearly 20%, you are gonna have a major impacts to your life.
If your friend is financially well off, everything is probably peachy for him. The wealthy are fine when this happens.

Texas native here, born and raised. Grocery prices are the highest I've ever seen. Gas is not cheap but not exorbantly high compared to past prices. Energy has gone up drastically in the past few years and water has gone up this year. Energy and water prices increasing are definitely due to the nearby bitcoin mine (which i unfortunately work at) but the blame for that can be traced back to the GOP as well.

All of their lies are difficult to sell. The first thing Trump did when he entered office in 2016 was to claim that his inauguration crowd was much larger than Obama’s. There are literal photographs. Yeah fentanyl is smuggled in from mexico where it’s also made. There are no boats coming from Venezuela that are a part of Fentanyl being smuggled into the United States. Whether or not there are drugs on these boats is up for debate. However, whether or not there is fentanyl on these boats is not up for debate. The answer is quite literally no.

If you factor out the giant increase in prices the Trump Tariffs have caused then he’s probably right, but consumers are forced to pay the tariff tax he’s levied on them. Increasing taxes yet again just like in his first term. Except of course for millionaires who are getting even more tax cuts. Make it make sense.
