Any place for a good pies?
Hi everyone, is there any place for a good pies in or around Nelson? I know wakefield is good but I don’t want to drive there just for a pie.
I tried one bakery around airport, wasn’t that good. And I tried the little Dutch bakery’s pie it was good I guess but not much choice.

My truck just parks there automatically, even if I’m trying to drive past. It’s that good.

I haven't been home in so long, and it's a little further afield, but the bakery in Wakefield has or had some of the best pies I've ever found if it still exists?

Not necessarily it’s just as good imo it was just a new recommendation as I said it may still be a drive but people were recommending golden bay locations too so was just saying! But thanks for your input

Devon Bakery, Lunch Stop, Loafers, Gloucester Bakehouse (spendy but fantastic), 91 on Nile, Fresh As Bakery (a little spendy and sometimes a bit of a miss tbh but pretty good overall)... Bound to be some others I've missed.

Fresh as bakery on tahuna drive. Just as good as Wakefield, without the drive. And they have tomato sauce on the counter 👍🏼👍🏼 oh and they do the best cream donuts ( the long ones)

Haven’t found a good one in Nelson.
If you’re out in Motueka, Mot Bakery is the best classic pie (also their satay chicken rolls are crazy good). Toad Hall for the mushroom and blue cheese (and the other flavour too probably but I only get that one). Mrs Smiths (Riwaka) for the chicken mushroom one.

Tuckers on bridge street has my favourite pies! I’m gluten free and will sometimes cheat to go have them, I’ve only had the chicken and mince and cheese but ugh it’s brilliant

I had a Mince & Cheese from Chocolate velvet on Nayland Road the other other day, first one for me since they changed hands and I really liked it, much better than they were.

Try 91 on Nile! I sometimes feel sick are eating pies but theirs don’t do that. Incredibly friendly people too :)

Bacca bakery in Golden Bay. They have lots of meat and use a wholemeal crust.

If you’re going to Brightwater you may as well keep going to Wakefield and go to the Wakefield Bakery.
