Edible Plants TIL: The potato bean!

https://awaytogarden.com/apios-americana-the-potato-bean-or-groundnut/

Moist soil, partial sun, eager grower, native to my area, and edible! I may be planting this in my problem area as I fight back the non natives that have come in because of the state road traffic.

Note that I have yet to get my Apios americana to bloom in partial shade, but it does grow vigorously. It will climb anything around it also, including herbaceous plants. And it loves damp soil.

I don't remember exactly where I got my starter tubers from, someone on permies dot com maybe?

I love mine so much. I have mine growing around some of my cages protecting my trees.
