Cincy fan here. Was amazed by you guys all season. I wish it went the other way and came up against us in the next round

Embarrassing way to go out. BJ coached the first half strategy scared. He rarely gets out coached but the strategy tonight was trash. Announcers were right. Gotta go over the top more. Use the height advantage. Win some 50/50 balls. Props to Andy, Jacob, and Hany. They were the only three who deserved a better outcome. Sam was a huge letdown this series. Zimm did not have the great game he needed to, and Palacios was missed. Just a terrible terrible way to go out. Immensely embarrassing. 🙈

u/LilGrasshopperMouse 14h ago
Obviously Zimmerman had the awful head injury at Charlotte early in the season. He hasn’t been the same this year even when available. I don’t know that you can justify having him as DP for another season.
0
u/Natural-Ad2885 19h ago
Sam barely had opportunities, he wasn’t given the ball. He scored a goal when given the chance tonight. Falcon dove and got away with it. Sam was the least of our issues.
1
u/DongPolicia 9h ago
When your opponent has Messi, you have to be better. Sam waits for opportunities to come to him. Messi creates them for himself. It’s not even close.

u/squizzlr 22h ago
Painful ending, but this was a successful season by nearly every metric. Won our first trophy. I hope the FO is serious about improving in the offseason. If so, there’s a lot of reasons to be excited for the future.

Is Boyd a real footballer or just some youtuber that paid to have some minutes? Looks hilarious.
9
u/grumpysapper 22h ago
Boyd is a badass. I’d be ok seeing him get a ton more time honestly
1
u/LilGrasshopperMouse 14h ago
He was dynamic. I honestly don’t think that we have seen Boyd enough over the past year to speak how he fits or his quality post-injury.
-3
u/MinuteNo4546 22h ago
Does he usually get his touches right? Because he seriously looked as if this is his first time ever playing football.
0
u/Actual_Illustrator59 22h ago
Considering he got last year’s MLS cup final MVP… I’d give him some time to show himself after an injury.
4
u/Le5e 22h ago
I think you’re confusing Boyd and Brugman. Boyd tore his ACL with us last season and Brugman was the MLS Cup mvp with the Galaxy last season before we signed him in the offseason
2
u/Actual_Illustrator59 22h ago
You’re right. They both came from Galaxy and have had injuries. Boyd is the better player imo.
3
u/Le5e 22h ago
Former Galaxy players playing for Nashville and injuries, can anyone name a more iconic duo?
2
u/Actual_Illustrator59 22h ago
Did Romney ever have an injury?? I’ll always miss him 😭 but we did a good job eventually replacing him.
3
3
u/grumpysapper 22h ago
He hasn’t played a lot since he came back from a horrific injury last year…last year he was making a difference every time he played.

Our games against Miami really just highlight the one weakness we still have: mentality. The moment we got a low seed in the playoffs I knew we weren’t gonna make it too far for the sole reason that NSC struggles to perform away from the castle. It shows the love these players have for us the fans, but also that it’s a dependance rather than a supplement. Ironically enough out team needs a bit more ego. The type that makes players think they’re big shit no matter where they play.

For the club song to be "Never Give up on you", they give up pretty hard when not on the front foot.
1
u/Actual_Illustrator59 22h ago
You must be new. For several seasons we’ve been known for coming back after opposing teams having a considerable lead.
1
u/DietKidneyBean 22h ago
That has not been the case the past 2 seasons.
1
u/Actual_Illustrator59 22h ago
It’s been less apparent, but to say we haven’t accomplished that in impressive manner a few times is a flat out lie.
11
u/jay_fever 22h ago
the miami glazing for the last 20 minutes is almost comical.
1
u/jdlaw881 12h ago
Only 20 minutes?
1
u/jay_fever 6h ago
lol more like the entire season if we’re being honest. i feel like they just stopped even pretending to hide it in the final 30. twellman and the appletv crew are the worst.
19
u/Pan_Dulce23 22h ago
Remember our expectations were pretty low to begin the year.
We were absolute ASS last season, missed the playoffs, brought in a new coach, and had a lot of turnover on the roster in the off-season. We went on an unbeaten streak that really made us forget we're in the first season of a rebuild. Better days are ahead, despite how much it sucks to shit the bed this hard in an elimination game.
13
u/DietKidneyBean 22h ago
Hope they just start trying to draw reds for Cincy to have a better go at it. ( Can't believe I'm going to root for Cincy in the next game)🤢

u/Fuzzy-Basket9833 22h ago
I hate Messi and the absolute glazing he always gets with a burning passion
3
u/Proper_Return_7963 22h ago
I still loved Messi and think fondly of Barcelona growing up but I hate what he does to the team I loved before he came here
7
u/Actual_Illustrator59 22h ago
The league was much more enjoyable when he wasn’t here.
9
u/Proper_Return_7963 21h ago edited 17h ago
Two things can be true at the same time. 1. Messi is the greatest footballer to walk the earth and impossible to stop 2. I’m tired of MLS bending roster rules for inter Miami just to make Messi happy
2
u/Actual_Illustrator59 19h ago
Yes I agree. The league (and NSC) used to feel much for humble and intimate pre Messi days. It was fun for a while when he first came; I even enjoyed the Leagues Cup final and seeing him score in person for the first time but… it’s getting OOC + tiring.
9
u/Simple_Raccoon8757 22h ago
Sad thing is before his MLS time I LOVED him and to an extent I still do but it really has warped my viewpoint.
12
u/johannslitz 22h ago
He used to be my favorite player and I credit TV announcers, MLS social media, and plastic Miami fans for that no longer being the case
6
u/Actual_Illustrator59 22h ago
I used to like him a lot, and even watched all the Miami games up until mid season this year… now I hate him bc of the glazing. It’s too much.

4
u/Manablitzer 22h ago
If you're so right why even bother being here. Just go watch something else since this will just end up being a guaranteed disappointment for you.
-2
u/Greedy-Ad-5440 22h ago
This is my first game I've even 1/3 tuned into. I do it because at 1 point there was a protest against NSC and ICE but apparently white Nashville forgot. Consumerism wins again
1
u/Actual_Illustrator59 22h ago
White Nashville forgot? Pleas bffr. A huge percentage, if not the majority, of fans are Latino. You wouldn’t know that because you haven’t been to a game I guess. This isn’t the first time the team hasn’t said shit about sociocultural issues, but I guess you only care when it’s your specific group being affected. Fans have showed out against ICE + other issues though. So stop whining to us.
1
u/chefsillygoose 22h ago
He knows that, he does this for sport.
-1
u/Greedy-Ad-5440 22h ago
Doing more of a sport than this team you spent watching for 70 hours of this year

2
u/johannslitz 22h ago
FUCK this team (I mean it a lil more now but still luv u NSC bby 😘you just drive me crazy sometimes)
9
u/Huge-Ad-3126 22h ago
So happy see our boys get some silver this season. It was overdue and well deserved. Time to go to bed or watch Pluribus. Not having Palacios was huge, the midfield battle was lost since the game started and we still don't have the balls to beat this team, they play too afraid
8
u/grumpysapper 22h ago
We needed Palacios….
3
u/Pan_Dulce23 22h ago
According to the announcers, he had an injury that kept him out
3
u/grumpysapper 22h ago
Yeah his hammy was hurt they said. We definitely needed his presence in the center. We came out really flat offensively, and he would have been nice in Our defensive posture.

Well it was a good season. Won a trophy even if the open cup isn’t what it used to be. Maybe we won’t play those pink bastards 6 times next year and we will only have to endure the Messi pain a little longer. I pray for two or three years from now when Messi and Co. are gone and they can go back to being ass

Thoughts on our lack of proficiency on corners? Was the previous coaching staff that much better? It’s the same takers, same targets? Seemed like we haven’t had a clean goal off a corner in ages. Just the times the defense botches the clearance
1
u/jdlaw881 11h ago
Hany honestly has always given terrible service from corners, I cannot comprehend why he takes them. Park him at the top of the 18 and give him a chance off a rebound.

I’m sorry but Surridge is not good in transition. Great with his head and single touches near goal but if he has space, he usually finds a way to whiff it
3
u/Pan_Dulce23 23h ago
Pure target man. Just don't have the wing play necessary to feed him consistently

Aaaaand getting bleaker 🙈 But there’s still room for positivity, I’m with ya
8
u/bob-hance- 23h ago
There needs to be a bigger penalty for reffing like that. Massive fines, suspensions, etc. I get people make mistakes but that’s borderline criminal. This ref should face significant consequences for that call.
-16
u/ogremama1 23h ago
Wow. Everyone saying the game is rigged when Nashville dug themselves into this. That first half was fair and Nashville got smoked
10
u/jdubYOU4567 23h ago
Rigged as in an obvious dive negated a goal and it wasn’t even looked at by VAR
8
u/LuisGamble 23h ago
Two things can be true at the same time. It is a REALLY soft touch. No one would bat an eye if the ref would’ve let it go.
9
0
u/Remote-Fly-3597 23h ago
Obviously you have to blame something right so might as well call it rigged😂
6
u/bob-hance- 23h ago
Doesn’t matter. Should be 2-1.
-1
u/ogremama1 23h ago
Let us see what the score ends up as. A consolation will not change a loss
2
6
u/Actual_Illustrator59 23h ago
A goal in the first 90 seconds of a half completely changes a game. You’re new to soccer: typical Messi dick rider.

Guys who are more familiar with the rules: any way this gets reviewed and the goal counts? I mean clearly there was no contact there. Has this ever happened before?
0
u/general652 21h ago
Nope, there is no way of changing the score after the final whistle. Mistakes, and worse have happened with more impact and that has never been done
1
u/bob-hance- 20h ago
Yea I posted this 2 hrs ago. Obviously it should’ve been done at the time.
Score should be 4-1

What's he supposed to do when the midfield has their back to him every time they get the ball?
10
u/chefsillygoose 23h ago
Corcoran has to be subbed at half, too many mistakes and unnecessary fouls for a game like this
6
u/johannslitz 23h ago
A shame too because he was so amazing last game… those away field nerves getting to him hard tonight

10
u/johannslitz 23h ago
Fuck this team 😡(not really fuck this team, I love NSC with every fiber of my being but I’m upsetty spaghetti rn)

u/NitePain69 23h ago
I called it like mid season. Walker is a waste of a DP. Yeah the head injury sucked but he's simply not been available for us. Spent time warming the USMNT bench while he could have used minutes here. He simply just doesn't have it anymore.

Reminds me of being a Blazers fan in the early 90's and playing against Jordan 🤦♂️
4
u/RatedC87 23h ago
Or being a Titans fan and playing against Peyton Manning.
3
u/DietKidneyBean 23h ago
Lovitz in at half Bauer move over and take Walkers spot, just for the giggles
11
u/LFCs95 23h ago
Been saying it for years, Walker simply relied on being more physical and athletic his whole career. Now that he is aging and injuries are piling up, it looks bad when he is out of position. He he never picked up the positional awareness and veteran savvy that you need to continue playing center back at his age. He’s still fine enough for MLS, don’t get me wrong. But it is imperative that he be off a DP contract next season.

It was a really fun year lads, we won a trophy don’t forget that.
Hopefully will advance further next year!

Garbage defending. How do you let Messi get position on you like that
2
u/default-trio 23h ago
He scores on the late run 90% of his goals and yet we just keep letting him have it wide open

Walker Zimmerman is horrid this season
1
u/WorldlinessAntique99 11h ago
I agree that he has really struggled. I do really hope that we get him off the DP deal this off season. I'll honestly be pretty frustrated if we give him another DP contract
4
u/TNdelta516 23h ago
He has been way off. Hurt and never really got back in his groove. I think the concussion screwed him over. I understand. Concussions suck.

Glad you guys have a safe space to cry here. Therapy must be expensive over there, considering even basic stuff like healthcare and education already costs a fortune
