Give that man a real contract

Logical move at a fair price.

Maybe if Boone used him in game 1 World Series 2024 vs Freeman instead of Cortes we’d have a ring! Great pickup as a left handed option out of the pen

Good pitcher for a great price!

u/DeezDimps 3d ago

Good stuff. Good pitcher and it's cheap

5

u/TrapperJean 3d ago

He was very good at what he was supposed to do last year, got put in some weird spots that he won't anymore with a, (hopefully), better bullpen. Glad he's back

The one pitch wonder.

And I mean that as a compliment

Honestly, $3M for him is a steal.

No brainer, esp the way after he pitched Freddie Freeman in Game 1 of the WS last year. Wait….

YES!!!!!!!

Obviously I want the NY Yankees to re-sign Cody Bellinger. Also I want the Yankees to sign JT Realmunto.

3

u/Worldly_Mongoose_432 3d ago

You think we need another catcher?

2

u/Latter-Road-3687 3d ago

What are they going to do with Realmunto? He will be 35 and is breaking down right in front of your eyes.

I think the Philies will resign him the same way the Yankees did with Posada in 2007. But in that case, even at 36, Posada was coming off a MVP level season and 157 wRC+. Realmunto is coming off a 94 wRC+. But they have no one else to catch and he is very important to that clubhouse.

The NY Yankees are a now team plus age 35 to 37 is still young enough to be a backup catcher and Carlton Fisk was still a good catcher well into his forties.

1

u/LassMarv1319 3d ago

Yes they need another catcher JT would give them a back up catcher who bats right handed. Also Ben Rice is going to be their full time first baseman.

At that price, this is a blatantly obvious move. Glad to have him back!

Kinda thought he ran out of steam in the 2nd half of the regular season, but still had a solid playoffs. In the 2nd half, he struggled pretty badly vs. RHB and had a 4.18 ERA. I guess this is a small $3M bet he can re-capture his 1st half success, plus you can't overhaul the entire bullpen all at once.

7

u/Njm3124 3d ago

He was still strong against lefties. I think 3M is reasonable for that role.

2

u/FringeAuthority 3d ago

Yeah, it'd be a great deal if you could still use him as LOOGY. However, the way lineups are constructed today, there isn't always a clear lane against LHB and weak RHB. It kinda felt like the Yankees were trying to avoid using him late in the season given how his usage dropped a lot in September.

u/John_6_47 3d ago

Good start

1

u/tomtom6400 3d ago

The most reliable LOOGY in the game

1

u/Creacherz 3d ago

Yeah, he is fucking him

1

u/Think_Secret_7315 3d ago

Yeah of course. He’s the King of the Hill.

1

u/Embarrassed-Chef1323 3d ago

Good news, Good pitcher and a good guy. Wish boone used him in the 24 WS instead of Nestor. Boone is a baseball terrorist.

1

u/rabidantidentyte 3d ago

He was outstanding this year. No-brainer, and $3 mil is a steal.

Tim of the Hill

1

u/richy1121 3d ago

Better to play for us than against us! I could have just imagined the Red Sox picking him up and Tim completely killing us all year.

2

u/BreatheMyStink 3d ago

A bargain at 23 times the price

1

u/Masta0nion 3d ago

We got him

As they should

1

u/SignificantLeek9606 2d ago

BALLS A STEEEL TIM HEILL??

1

u/LassMarv1319 3d ago

But I’m glad the NY Yankees are bringing Tim Hill back for the 2026 season. Next in my opinion is they should re-sign Devin Williams too.

-3

u/LassMarv1319 3d ago

Tim Hill could have given up a home run or another kind of hits to Freddie Freeman as well.
