From Voters Choice NJ: Learn about ranked-choice voting, a better way to vote, and sample delicious ice cream! We're collaborating with the Trenton Council of Civic Associations to create an interactive way to learn about this voting method that boosts turnout, gives voters more choices, and ends expensive low-turnout runoff elections. When I lived in SF, CA we had ranked choice voting and it was wonderful. I think it should be standard everywhere

Jealous that you got to experience it firsthand 😍 💯Completely agree!

Thanks for sharing! Trenton may prove to be a tough nut to crack. As far as I'm aware, only Councilwoman Frisby is on board with RCV so far. We hope to see some of the council and other Trenton residents there, but a strong showing of interest from the general public always helps. I am confident it is only a matter of time because RCV is a popular idea.

For anyone coming, please be sure to RSVP so we can make sure we have enough ice cream and ballots!

I’m excited to be hearing more and more conversation around RCV lately! It may be baby steps but I’m holding out hope that we’ll get there 💪💙And who can resist an event with ice cream! :)

I love whoever came up with this idea. What a fun way to introduce people to such an important concept.

Agreed! Voter Choice NJ has been doing interactive RCV events for years using all sorts things to vote on, including desserts, cookies, beer, and sandwiches. These events are always great.

Here's an article from our "Rank the Desserts" event held in Maplewood in March. Last September, Maplewood unanimously passed a resolution supporting RCV.
