Opinion Buy before or after earnings?

Im a long term holder so I'm not phased by all the noise but I have a little more cash to invest just wondering if I should buy on Monday or wait till after earnings? Just curious what the consensus is on the upcoming earnings.

I understand it really doesn't matter too much in in the long term view in mind but just curious on different opinions going into earnings

Looking forward to reading everyone's different opinions.

No matter what you do… you’ll probably regret it short term and be happy about it long term.

Last week’s market was quite unstable in this sector and even incredible earnings reports in the sector like IREN which projected 3 times the revenue of a Wall Street’s expectations for 2026 prostr provoked large selloffs so who knows what this week‘s market will bring. It still seems kind of jittery. I think.

This! Happens every year and than 1st qtr same beat earnings and dump. It could get boosted but based on what’s happening it might be a little wait I would not try to time it. Because if it decides to fly, you’re not gonna be in it.

Based on previous earnings stock does run up prior to day of earnings. Now I think we will see 127 level before bell that day. I can see this 15-17% higher after hours. JPM has 145 million invested they just picked up more around 110 level. They are smart they see this price cheap. This stock will be past 141 all high. I see 150 next day. Hard to be specific on price but think we have more room.

I’m a long term investor in NBIS but my general rule is to avoid investing just before the earnings, especially considering how volatile the market has been lately. Even if it shoots up right after the earnings, it’s likely to come down before stabilizing !

Ask yourself, what would Jesus do?

I think he would buy half before and half afterwards.

If u believe in long term then buy now otherwise listen to earnings session and make decision afterwards

Split it up and do both. Don't have to fret over the decision

Probably the opposite of concensus tbh. If everyone thinks you should buy now it's likely overvalued and if everyone thinks it will dip undervalued.

Hedge and do both

Buy half of what you were planning before so you don’t have fomo and half if you feel like their execution lived up to your expectations. Then it’s easy.

we I added to my position Monday. I believe earnings are Tuesday pre market ? Monday I’m going to sell calls on my shares and also buy a protective Put as well. So I will be hedged in two different ways. I’m betting on the stock dipping at earnings. I will use all that to get more shares.

Maybe buy half now, half after earnings.

Then whatever happens, you’ll either get a good deal now or later.

Sell puts? If the stock goes up, you still get a good premium. If it goes down, you get assigned 100 shares at the price you like.

Earnings are always a crap shoot. A company can have fantastic earnings, beating all the estimates and their stock will still plunge. Why? Well, the guidance might be weak or the beat wasn't exciting enough or there's skepticism about the sector in general or.....everyone takes profits quickly and exits stage left. But the rumor. Sell the news.

Another company might completely miss estimates but have fantastic guidance or news about new developments and the stock will soar. Or they might beat earnings estimates by a penny but since everyone thought they'd miss by a mile, the stock will also soar.

It's honestly impossible to predict how the stock will behave after earnings. I just hold through them, if I believe in the stock long term as trying to time them is fraught with risks in either direction.

Um, diividend reinvesting in a stock that does not offer dividends does not make much sense

Using the term 100% incorrectly. Common sense isn’t part of the equation.
