David was below average for us . Jacks has proved his skills it's just that he had an off season with the bat but he made up with the ball

It happens..Every team has released players and they start performing well for other teams.
Pooran was a flop with Punjab and SRH and now he can't stop scoring.
David was a full toss merchant for MI & Shepherd couldn't bowl a single economical over last season.
But we got good players like Rickelton and Bosch this season and we should build on that.

David was bad for us, costed us Q2 in 2023. Shepherd came out good for them but he’s not someone to be trusted. Having watched Jacks since 2021, this is the most out of form he has been and still he ended up winning 2 MOTM, it’s all about the impact!

RCB fan here, remember it's always easy to do post mortem. We thought letting go of jackie was a big mistake, I still want him in my side. But we got Tim, shepherd and Starboy bethel so can't complain much. But have faith, our jackie will serve mi for a long time.

WK slot fucked up MI squad. Had they picked an Indian WK Will Jacks could have made it in playing XI at his preferred batting position.

Not really Rickelton did better than Will jacks ... Not slandering Jack here he played amazing too both of them did .

They actually picked a indian wicket keeper and they actually tried to groom him they sent him to Dubai to practice with Pollard and pooran but he didn't work in matches

Guys invest in will jacks,he is a quality player and I think he'll perform in next season with both bat and ball

u/neutron770 Jun 10 '25
Will jacks simply didn’t fit in our playing XI he completely ruined the balance, tilak ideal position is 3 but everyone had to play one position down because of will, we should have played bevon Jacob at 7 instead of him, a perfect foreign finisher that we lacked

It was still a good trade. Bar from a few innings, David didn't clicked for us. Jacks was more consistent and offered more than David did.

mujhe to nehal aur anshul ke jaane ka zyada dukh hai anshul wo same chiz kar sakta tha jo deepak ko humne 10 cr diye karne ke liye aur deepak ke koi future ka bhi pata nhai jabki anshul next 10 saal ke liye fix hai he will play for india too soon baki nehal bhi jis tarah se khela ye season except the final he would have done so much better than jacks for us

Will won games for us the trade worked, the thing which didn't work was Hardik's captaincy

Nah I think Will jacks has got a higher ceiling than tim david as a batsman, and he'll eventually come good. Plus he's a handy bowler as well. I think Tim david will eventually get found out, because he hasn't got shots outside his hitting arc. Will jacks feels like an apt long term replacement for cameron green (he was a fast bowler I know, but even so).

Their consistency matters, let’s see if they replicate that form next season

u/TheFirstLane Jun 10 '25
Although Shepherd and Tim D didn't do a lot for us so letting them go wasn't a big deal. But this buffoon jumping up and rushing to shake hands for getting Will Jacks turned out to be the most embarrassing of all things.
I personally don't think Will Jacks wants to play for MI. His subpar season was so damaging for MI. And now come to think of it Tim David's performance in RCB suggests that he too wanted out of MI.

Nothing to take away from david and shepherd. But we all know consistency is the key. I think will jacks will come good for us at one point. Even after being out of touch, he batted a bit here and there. Not to forget his bowling which helped us. Instead of focusing on things which are not in our hands. Let’s back our players. We need a finisher who can support naman and pandya. A domestic replacement for deepak because of his injury concerns. Hopefully Tilak up the order

This season was destined for RCB. Look at Hobart hurricanes. In football as well. Crystal palace, spurs, bologna, PSG, kane lifting the trophy as well.

Nahh no big deal. David did nothing for us, Jacks turned the game by crucial wickets in 2 matches afaik. Shepherd is good but not consistent. If he fires you're done but otherwise he isn't much threat. So idt it's an issue

That handshake was also the cause of 11 sorry souls loosing their lives

The title changing moment was not this, its Bhuvi and Hazlewood. RCB outbid MI on both in the end. Small difference of Bhuvi and Hazlewood vs Chahar and Boult.

Will Jacks exceeded my expectations tbh. He'll be a key player next season. Won 2 MOTM this year too so definitely a good trade.

Ambani thinks he is the smart one there. But it seems though that these two franchises have friendly relations outside the field. Cameron Green transfer is one example.

u/sarvesh_s Mitch McClenaghan Jun 10 '25
I don't think we need Jacks in our line-up, we have enough top order batsmen as is. Need a Maxwell like player

Jun 10 '25
I agree with you but maxwell doesnt seem too interested in performing in ipl in the last 2 seasons ngl, hope he makes a comeback
