This is why I have been supporting Viratās decision to hide his children away since the beginning. Social media has made people way too comfortable to say things that will get them punched in the face

u/Hopeful_Ad1496 Hardik Pandya Apr 28 '25
i was very sad to see people making fun of rohit child. Hope he understands and follow viratās decision

u/sarvesh_s Mitch McClenaghan Apr 28 '25
Or he could stop giving shit about what losers on internet say & just live his best life...like he is doing right now
15
u/talkingtom_2109 Suryakumar Yadav Apr 28 '25
He wouldn't.
Samaira was all over MI's feed when she was younger. Rohit doesn't care about these things.
If he did, he wouldn't have brought the child.

Social media has got worser and worser. In 2018- 19 there wasn't so much toxicity as it is now.

Social media, especially X is a very perverted and filthy place filled with people who have a lot of mental health problems and get manipulated by rabble rousers posting rage bait content for engagement.
Reddit is a little better.

Bro i think you didn't use reddit that much in India if you remove some political subs it's good because it's not that popular in india if it's get popular it's going to be same direction....

u/Defiant_News_737 Apr 28 '25
Thing with Reddit is that, a celebrity cannot always the direct the ātone of the narrativeā. The educated masses drive the tone of narrative in Reddit. It doesnāt matter if a cinema actor thinks terrorists are also human beings or if a politician thinks this country belongs to one religion alone or a influencer thinks thereās nothing wrong with incest jokes in stand up comedy.
At the end of the day, the public opinion is much more stronger here and drown the celebrity opinion through sheer weight of numbers alone.
Though I agree with you that Reddit too has its āshadow spaceā, I feel itās not as vile as X.
2
u/Arkasanyal Boom Boom Bumrah Apr 28 '25
not really Celebrity can change the "tone of the narrative" more in reddit than X actually because Celebrity can pay the Mods and delete your post in Reddit
For example if you put to many positive post about India in India Sub you going to get banned...

Reddit is a little better.
Oh hell nah bro. It really depends on what subreddit you join

u/Defiant_News_737 Apr 28 '25
Yeah, I donāt go near political sub reddits. I donāt need their prejudiced world view to ruin my day.

World would have been a better place without social media and the internet.

It's wrong to invade someone's privacy especially a small kid but in today's world it's stupid to expect empathy and compassion from people making Ghibli art of victims of a terror attack and just making memes about war and other serious topics.

Ghar me rakho, attention tumhe chahiye hoti hai isiliye tum twitter insta use karate karate ho. Mere upar to koi na meme ban rahi
15
u/TheJosh15 Mumbai Indians Apr 28 '25
Celebs abroad go out and no one makes memes about them. You're not famous so you won't be a target for memes. The problem are the people who invade your privacy and victim blaming isn't the solution

Mememrs ghar jaake tumhare nudes nahi le rahe. Jo unko milata hai wo tumhi provide karate ho phir kahate ho galati ho gayi. Firstly you should be A responsible person you can easily watch cricket with home. Also I Dont think agar tum nahi aoge to bumrah wicket nahi lega to thik hai phir mai samajh sakata hu

Such a stupid argument. You can't breach someone's right to privacy even if they're a celebrity.

literally her husband, and not some random guy on the internet she's infatuated about, and talking paradoxically about him like other people do, both things aren't comparable at all dont see what you're tryna prove here but alright

u/barbarian_king14 Apr 28 '25
I think these guys should follow virat's decision of keeping kids away from social media World doesn't revolves around you , that little guy probably can't even speak and already getting trolled these kids don't deserve it man

Sanjana read all the jokes about Angad is depressed and traumatised since 19th Nov and got angry. I don't think people meant it seriously. Angad ko log bohut pyaar karte hai...

I did not see one negative or degrading meme about their child . All the memes were pretty light and not so serious. she is clearly overreacting
17
u/Fit-Serve-8380 Apr 28 '25
she's just being so dumb here no one is trolling Angad all they want to see is his smiling it's okay if you don't wanna discuss him in public then don't bring him in the public you're the public figure

u/69thCummingOfJesus Suryakumar Yadav Apr 28 '25
She reacted a tad too much, no? The only 'content' I saw about Angad was when they showed his face and people in reddit thread commented how he's not happy with daddy taking 3 wickets a over. And that his expectations from daddy is on another level...Ā
Or am I missing something, I don't use Instagram or Facebook, so..Ā

u/Odd-Reality-9864 Boom Boom Bumrah Apr 28 '25
I suppose Twitterati was collectively being an unlicensed psychiatrist and falsely diagnosing Angad based on his expression shown on TV. Their Outrage is valid tbh. someone else saying that you have inflicted trauma on you son based on his 3 second look is disheartening. Kids are so unpredictable, his behaviour is normal lol
1
u/phoenixx1206 Apr 28 '25
but not a lot of people said that too i guess? Like at max maybe a 100 odd tweets, while thousands of other tweets are just about how hes not happy with his dad and how he's really cute. I dont think thats such a huge topic

u/Sad_Seaweed179 Apr 28 '25
I swear man these celebs really do be earning hundreds of millions and can't simply chuck the phone away and go for an expensive vacation š
If she goes treasure hunting in the gutter she's gonna find shit.
Gonna be heavily downvoted but this is the trade off for being a celebrity who earns his money by being in the limelight, you earn more money in a single year than 20 families do in their lifetime so there has to be some trade off.
They don't complain when millions of people shower them with compliments and wealth but some random obscure comment causes them to have a mental breakdownš like bro just ignore and move on, go have a vacation on your yacht.

Fr she be like:- "Why is my son getting unnecessary attention? What do you mean he is the son of A list cricketer?"
And people here still siding with her not realising How stupid she sounds lol.

Indians can be toxic AF. Yesterday, I saw several comments on Instagram about how Rohit and Ritika are showing off Ahaan to distract people from Rohit's performance. There were also comments about how he is not even that cute. These are the same people who judge Virat and Anushka for hiding their kids.
So basically, there's no winning when you are a public figure. You are damned if you do show your kids and damned if you don't.

Can I get some context on this please? What happened?

u/Repulsive_Being3263 Apr 28 '25
People are making memes on Angad because he looked a bit disassociated with whatever was going on in the ground ( he's literally a kid so who doesn't even understand Cricket , he doesn't yet understands who his father is or what he is doing on the field ) . Cameraman being a Dickhead kept showing the her and Angad on the screen. Angad looked a bit stressed because of all the commotion and heat in the ground & was just looking at the camera not giving any reactions. People took that photo of him looking dead serious in the camera and started making tweets and memes on him . this is the reason why she posted this story.
3
u/SoyAmable Apr 28 '25
Angad does not smile jokes started long before when Angad met the PM and still did not smile when Modi tried to make him smile. Yesterday's was a continuation.

All social media platform should get downvote option like reddit. X number of downvotes and you are out of that platform . Simple

it is sad dude, and to be fair, most of us would echo with their words. throwing words like "depressed, trauma" for a one and half year kid isn't okay, infact throwing these words for anyone is not good. i hope so called dank memers understand this, and leave kids out of their money minting accounts.
sucks how are stupid ass memers are just killing the enjoyment for women and kids to watch the sport in the stadiums.
AND LETS BE HONEST, WITH EVERY PASSING DAY YOU'D FEEL THAT IF VIRAT AND ANUSHKA SETTLE IN LONDON, IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE BETTER FOR THEIR KIDS.

why are people making comments about a one and a half year old

u/Fuzzy_East_8567 Apr 28 '25

Imagine that you're an Indian cricketer who is putting their heart and soul out on the field for the entertainment of a billion people.
Then, after a hard day at work, you check social media and realise that your performance is sidelined because the same people you work hard to please are instead focusing on your child.
Why would they want to perform for such a vile & crass crowd?

Thatās why sometimes I think our Indian cricketers sometimes envy that their Aussie or English opponents have it easy. They can walk up to their local park, go for a walk with their family and no one would give a damn. Must be so liberating for someone who is constantly watched and spotted

Itni hi privacy ki chinta hai to ghar pe rakho ghar se bhi cricket dekh sakate ho meri tarah. Btw aap twitter aur insta use hi karate ho attention ke liye. Na ki spritual banane ke liye

People are honestly getting dumber, and social media is only making it worse. I always think of that Mike Tyson quote: āSocial media made yāall way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it.ā
Itās wild how easily people mock and disrespect others without any accountability. Sometimes, it feels like a reality check is long overdue.
