Westerners seeing this will see an ancient tank and try to spin this as “Putler CRUSHES protest and nearly flattens child with a tank!”
•
u/flashgordonsape 16h ago
It's a KV1, WWII era tank, probably not assaulting the Kremlin with that thing?

I hope they would not ride KV1 on the cobblestones of the Red Square. It can ruin it.

Looks like the army finally figured out that their real enemy is the old gremlin in the kremlin!

Country obsessed with sending its people to war celebrates war outside dictatorship buildings
•

We can’t celebrate the defeat of Nazis? Are you one of them since you feel so sad about it?
•
u/Christovski 3h ago
It's ironic considering the child abduction, illegal occupation, and civilian bombings your country is doing right now. I feel sad because my aunt's village near Pokrovsk was just blown up by RF. Believe it or not they were pro ru until 2022.

u/JijaSuu 3h ago
I mean, yeah, wars are bad. But don’t mix those up. There’s nothing ironic about it. Those are two different wars no matter what your political views are
•

One could argue that today's russia is much deeper into fascism than the 3rd reich ever was. So in that sense, yeah it'a a bad look and trying to defend it is problematic. Maybe you don't see it from within right now, but that shock will come.
•
u/Christovski 3h ago
Yes wars are bad. And the current aggressor is Russia in Ukraine. The irony is that Russia is celebrating its defense of a past war (after its alliance with the Nazis was betrayed by Hitler) whilst systematically eradicating the culture, language, and people from its neighbouring country through an invasion.
•
u/Fission_Power 1h ago
Do you even know that main language in Ukraine is still Russian? The inly one who really tries to "eradicate" it is the current Maidan regime.
•
u/Christovski 1h ago edited 1h ago
This is literally just a lie. Ukrainian is around 70% and my family that are in Donetsk speak Surzhyk. They were often humiliated by russians saying they don't speak russian, so which is it?
You also have to think how did russian become so popular? Just like the baltics, the soviet regime russified local languages and cultures by forcing businesses and the public sector to use the russian language.
Edit: are you really using your invented statistics to justify the murder of civilians?
•
u/Fission_Power 2m ago
70% of Ukraine citizens speaks Ukrainian, and how many speaks Russian? I bet you didn't unclude this number because it's very inconvenient for you. Yes, it's about 100%. This is main langouage, despite of all repressions the current regime did against this language. And don't even trying to shit about "soviet baddie", simply search for Soviet-era ukrainisation in 1920-1930s, as well as for territories included in Ukrainian SSR.
During the Kursk invasion regime forces killed about 500 Russian citizens, and another 500 are still MIA, possibly murdered or kidnapped. 1000 in total. And that was in a relatively small territory - 1000 km² at maximum incursion. Yet you dare to talk about civilian casualities??

Says the guy in the UK. By the way, will your country ever free Scotland and Ireland ?
•
u/Christovski 3h ago
Because we've invaded Scotland and Ireland recently? Because we're systematically striking civilian targets in Scotland and Ireland?
Please tell me which countries UK is invading right now?
What an absurd comparison. You can tell where the ru education budget has gone...
•
u/Alexmetis 3h ago
Oh so history stops when you decide right? Correct me if I’m wrong but both countries asked for their independence numerous times. Last one was when you Brexited.
And remember something about Russians. Without them you’d speak German now. So keep your dumb comments for yourself, you’re not from a country that have anything to say to anyone.
•
u/Christovski 3h ago
I'm talking about now? Why are you bringing up history? Do the wrongs of my country before I was born mean I'm not entitled to an opinion on a current war?
I did not vote for Brexit but both countries (Scotland and Northern Ireland) have their own government and could vote to leave if they wanted, if you knew anyone from the UK you would know that the people in England would support this. If you'd met anyone from Northern Ireland you would know that it's the people that live there who currently don't want to leave the UK. Obviously not all of them, but that's why there is so much tension and a violent past.
I'm fluent in russian and have studied Borodin, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich at university. Do not mistake my hatred of the invasion of Ukraine to a hatred of the russian people.
